AMD Preparing Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition.

    When launching 7970, AMD was unsure how Kepler would perform. Keeping that in mind they did not go all out keeping the clocks a bit conservative.

    Now that 680 outperforms 7970 in most games/benchmarks handsomely depending on the resolution, they are looking to squeeze every bit of performance out of it in order to better compete with 680. I doubt there will only be a clock increase (2304 shaders anyone?). However, this is all speculation at this point, until confirmed. Also, I wonder what happens to the power consumption since 680 is already more power efficient.

    This leaves us with 7950. Now since it is very close to 7870 with regards to performance, AMD would be looking to increase this gap and might give it a "GHz Treatment" as well.
