Can anyone tell me why anyone would want anything other than a cheap $65 AMD 7750 for gaming after reading this review? Especially at the higher resolutions.

This puzzles me in the conclusion:

The two newest titles (Crysis WarHEAD and Brothers in arms- Hells Highway) both seem to really like more than two cores, in fact three cores seems to be a sweet-spot for multi-core aware games.

While I see a nice jump in fps with extra cores (which negates some of what I just said above LOL) in the BIA game... I do not see this in Crysis.

    Dis I miss something?

Because at 1600x1200 it only managed 38 FPS in BiA and that would only be worse in more CPU intensive games.

Well I corrected my post after yours but for the sake of argument....

As long as you have a "sustained" 30fps in games then who cares if it's 30fps or 3000fps?

My point was more for the other three games which show almost zero difference between a $64 CPU and a $200 CPU.

IMHO if you have money to burn then by all means get the fastest cpu "and" the fastest video card but if money if tight you are far better off getting a cheap $65 7750 (which can be upgraded later if need be) and then taking that saved cash and getting a better video card.

Well I'll keep my crappy 7750 for 6 more months then pop in a much cheaper Phenom II when they drop under $100 :)

I think for most games (not all of course) the 7750 is within 5% if those CPU's costs 2-4 times as much as this review proves. Not all games mind you but what about those other three?
