You a AMD or intel fan?
Since this is in the intel forum, I voted intel. But I like both equally.
No matter what the fanboys say, both companies make exellent products.
Except duron and celeron. I dont like my processors to be in a permanent vegitative state.
I am not a fan of any company.
The one that has the best performance per dolar ratio wins...
I love em both. they be my babies LOL
Personally since I am using Intel, I voted Intel, however next system will probably be AMD. The only thing I have against Intel is it's furnaces called "Prescott's". Other than that since I don't play the latest games, I don't need the fastest and greatest cpu on the market.
Lol, I was wondering what kind of person posts these kind of topics and then I looked under his name and it said banned, and with only 13 posts.
Sorry, couldnt resist
adair, that's like one of the best owned piccies I've seen... got more?!
Intel all they way.
they are faster, more reliable, isnt going to cook if the fan stops.
more cache, Hyper threading. (cant wait to see the dual core cpu's with hyper threading)
More support and larger range of hardware that is compatible.
what more can i say.
also i dont like the fact that you buy an AMD 3000 cpu. and its speed is only like 2200MHz stop lying, if it only does 2200 than call it an amd 2200.
I dont even know what to say to this??? Your so off your of the scale.
they are faster ---> NOT (in certain things, but AMD comes out on top overall.) So many variables to this question
more reliable ---> NAH, try again (personall experiance, I stilll have my K6-2, while both my p3 and p 233mmx have died)
isnt going to cook if the fan stops ---> wtf,
more cache, Hyper threading ---> So, your point is?AMD's answer to hyperthreading technology is called HyperTransport
More support and larger range of hardware that is compatible.--> Have you heard of an Athlon 64 thats both 32 bit and 64 bit( FUTURE software ready) and what HARDWARE IS MORE compatible with Intel then AMD? (I mean hardware that is actually usefull to the everday gamer or just computer user?)
what more can i say. ---> please dont
Read some reviews there are so many sourses out there
Im tired, I have no time to go into detail with this.
Yeah, but I'm sure they name them like that because if people looked purely at clock speeds (which most computer users, and I said users, not gurus) look at when comparing processors.
And most of your points are not correct. If you have a prescott your processor will most definately cook if you don't have a fan on it. More support and larger range of hardware that is compatible? Where did you pull that from? And all in all the AMD processors are faster than the Intels, go read up on the reviews. I was an Intel fanboy myself (never thought I'd go AMD) but Intel continually gets beat down in the processor department and then doesn't let other better manufacturer's develop chipsets (till now), so my next build will be an AMD.
And if it does 1.4 call it a 710? What on earth does 710 tell you?
1) Thread starter is banned (again - he doesn't learn)
2) AMD vs. Intel threads have been done to death.
3) This is in the Intel section (I wonder which is favoured here!)
4) The thread starter did not even pose a question he wanted answering, and stated no reasoning behind this thread.
