yep, they are unlocked as u can see. Maybe is that or it won't work yet with cfx.

Will do some test later with Unigine.

is not cfx related. It works on my 5870's in both ways.

Unigine work, but not Metro2033 ..

    AMD Optimised, 60fps

    AMD 2x Tesselation, 61fps

    Appliccation controled, 60fps ..

The max fps increase a little bit with 2x tesselation, but it's metro and as you know the bench is a bit "changing " from run to run. ( Cat AI is on HQ level )

You mean which games uses tessellation? Well there are a few games out there:
    Dirt 2
    AVP
    Metro 2033
    etc
OpenGL can also do this but I don't believe there are any PC games out using OpenGL based tessellation. Here's the thing, there is a common way that tessellation is being used. That is to make objects, etc look 3D. In cases like that you don't need a lot of tessellation. Which goes back to my OP that only 4X is needed to actually show that the texture, etc has a 3D look. But there is another method which IMO isn't tessellation used in today's games. Lets look at the pics below:

Here is the base image with it disabled

Here is the image with it enabled

That's from Endless City. As you can see there is no reason why having it disabled doesn't render what the actual base image is suppose to be (IE: changing the image itself once enabled). This is the very opposite of what you see in Heaven Benchmark and most other current DX11, tessellated games (if not all) when you disable tessellation. Which is why only a few believe that they need higher levels of it. Because at this point what is being demonstrated IMO is not tessellation but texturellation. From the examples shown earlier there is still tessellation being used (but if you increase it you actually can change what the image, etc looks like) unlike the pic above which shows it disabled. Therefore, more isn't needed because we are talking about something different "from the ground up". :)

no, but I expect something similar. I'll tray maybe 4x to see the difference and report back.

anyone know if this tessellation slider can increase the level of tessellation in game? like Metro for example, if you set the slider higher does the tessellation in game improve?

I believe it can only limit the Max used Tess amount.

in that case it's kinda useles for games.the tessellation amount used in games is low, you can barely notice it.i was hoping this option could increase it.

I ran the AvP 2010 benchmark after finding out there wasn't any benchmarking tool in the full game. :D

AF, AA and Tessellation set to application in CCC. Vsync OFF in CCC

    *DX11 Hardware Detected*

    Using Default Video Settings:

    Resolution: 1920 x 1080
    Texture Quality: 2
    Shadow Quality: 3
    Anisotropic Filtering: 16
    SSAO: ON
    Vertical Sync: OFF
    DX11 Tessellation: ON
    DX11 Advanced Shadows: ON
    DX11 MSAA Samples: 1

    Benchmark Summary:

    Number of frames: 13212
    Average Frame Time: 7.9ms
    Average FPS: 126.0

Tessellation set to 2x to see if there would be any impact:

I gain 1 FPS!!!! Whoopdee do.... I ran this a few times and I cannot see the difference. I will try to rerun the full game and see if there may be any difference, but most of the high poly stuff is basically in the character models and not the environment.

I have a glinch that the Tesselation level in games cannot be modified via drivers on unlocked 6950:3eyes:.

Well the tesselation in games like avp and Metro only/mainly afffects the characters... Like in Metro with Tess on theres no way youd see single polygons on the characters Where as there's no problem seeing the jaggies on the environment.

I think tessellation in current games is nominal at best.
