A whole new generation, at 7nm to boot, and the best they can do is +15%?
Either thats very sad, or very untrue.

I wonder if Nvidia will compete then with the prices?

I don't see myself switching from a 1080TI to any of the leaked cards... I hope they push for more than +15% on top of Vega 64.

A 250$ 150w mid range card that's 10-15% faster than Vega 64 is sad? WTF are you on about LUL
This is literally a dream GPU, if true.

If the best they can do is make a card to compete with a 2070, then yes, thats very sad.

Well it all depends on price, if its 2070 performance at $250 USD, that's 2070 performance at 1060 6gb cost (at least here in Australia), which would be a major win, that's if you can take these prices and specs seriously, which I'm not, as always ill wait till there are actual products before I judge anything.

But yeah people gotta stop thinking that AMD need to compete with Nvidia's top end, they don't, they just need to make a product that has good performance and good price, and a product that performs at 2070 speeds for 1060 cost is EXACTLY THAT! (if its true, we will have to wait and see).

We talk about mid-range GPU that majority of gamers are care about. Around the same performance for half the price is not bad. Whether it true or not is different topic.

I dont think they will price it at $249. They could easily price it at $299-349 and it will still fly off the shelves. Remember, it would be going up against a $499-549 card (2070). If they do price it at $249, thats insane. What sort of margins can they get out of such a high performing card with 8gb GDDR6?

lol thanks mate, yeah sometimes we all get a little caught up in the theoretical new tech and forget we have nothing to actually judge yet, its important to remember this all means nothing until we get something physical to actually test.

Maybe I'll get bashed now for what's to follow by some fanboys, but... if they can make a card that performs like mentioned above, at half the price, they still shouldn't do it. They should charge those 50€ more, since that money would be very well placed in GPU R&D, exactly how Nvidia does it. THEN AMD will catch up long term, and stable. And that would be a good thing, going for the market share (and technological matching against Nvidia) they had with the HD6000 / 7000 cards.

It's not just you, I too do that, and many others also. It's a way to kill off time, but people should remember that everything we read is one thing, a true benchmark after release is another ;)

well the RX 580 consumes 185W while the new equivalent consumes a mere 75W!, that's insane! that's 60% power reduction for the same performance

When are these childish naming schemes going to stop? AMD should've named this the Rx 600 series but no they went with the 3000 series which means that Nvidia would most likelike change their naming scheme again for their next architecture realease. The same goes for the Z370, B350, B360, X370, X470 and B450 motherboard chipsets. Please stop this childishness and put some more effort and creative thinking into naming your products. Hopefully they change it back to the Rx600 series

I haven't been interested in AMD regarding GPU for years, i expected better from them after what they pull off on the CPU market.

    <- Wait and see

i don't understand why people are complaining, a vega 64 + 15% ( 2070 level ) for half the price and dramaticaly reduced power consumption if true that would be the greatest news of 2019 that and a Ryzen 2 cpu at 5ghz with 16 cores at sub 500$ price tag
