I doubt they'd release a 5950X3D personally, but the rumor of the 6 and 12 core models seems possible. Robert Hallock mentioned that AM4 and AM5 would coexist alongside one another for a while, so adding a few more processors to the older socket seems like a good choice. Keep the current customers satisfied in addition to newer customers for the future. :)

For sure, if they release the 5600X3D then I will probably piss my self.
Sad but true and I'm not a girl.

The 5800X3D sells for 500 euros in most shops around me. So I expect that an hypothetical 5600X3D would cost around 400.

In that case better to get 5800x for a 300eur.

Maybe not. Most games only use 6C/12T, because they don't scale well with core count.
But a lot of games scale very well with cache. So a 5600X3D would be much better.

If it costs 100$ more, has 2cores less and core clock deficit does it make sense going for 10% faster gaming performance?

Depends on what people do with it.
If it's a PC mostly for gaming, the 5600X3D will be the better choice.
If it's a PC mostly for productivity, then the 5800X will be better.

And considering that most games only use 6C12T, the 5600X3D will be very similar to the 5800X3D.

I agree but it requires a full system change. 7600x will probaly be even faster than 5600x3d.

I would be up for a 5900X3D tbh. The 5900X fully covers everything I need for the time being, but I'd appreciate the extra gaming boost. I doubt Zen 4 or Raptor Lake would incite me to upgrade this time around. But a plop-in gaming upgrade? Sign me up.

If 2 less cores = less power draw = less heat = more clock speed and more turbo = it's a win.

But 2 more cores usually means smoother gameplay due to higher 1% and 0.1% tho, cmiiw.

    So either way is good.

do not trust this rumor as it is wishful thinking.

    1) wishful thought #1 that the cost of adding 3D cache to a Ryzen 3 (non-5800x) could be achieved for the range of one to three SKU's. it cannot.
3D Cache is the most exacting precision manufacturing process on Earth in any industry.

    2) do you really think AMD is going to step on their dick?
September is the release of Ryzen 4. IF THESE RUMORS ARE TRUE THESE CPU'S WOULD'VE ALREADY BEEN MADE

    3) this is just stupid. AMD makes more money off of Milan-X (3D) than any consumer CPU and that includes 5800X3D. Milan- X is still in production and has been a massive success from the day AMD accepted pre-orders. Milan-X is outselling the $300-400 AMD cpus.

    4) to make an automotive analogy
... this is like saying Bentley will be making a budget two seater - not going to happen.

and if it does happen i'll happily eat my words (as yes, it would be better for mid-market PCs)

No as the 5800X 3D "beat" in game the 5950X...
I would choise myself the more core... but i don't play too much, if i was only doing game i would choise the 3D...

I want to believe but I would put my money on Ryzen 7000. I do not think AMD would cannibalize their new line sales unless they anticipate DDR5 supply issues to sustain the launch.

A 5600X3D doesn't really make sense to me. It'll be way too expensive for a 6-core and it's not a worthwhile upgrade for anyone. Maybe if it was a 5600G3D (so, iGPU included) then I'd say AMD would be releasing one of the best chips they've made in years.
