Why the fuss over a teaser? I am sometimes amazed over how little it takes before the bashing on AMD starts recently. :3eyes: Could that not just be to confirm the WCE edition or stir up more fuss over its lack of an ordinary cooling profile?
I can't believe AMD would even bothered releasing a video like this, it is completely pointless showing a few seconds of nothing but a GPU shroud. Quick someone cast a resurrection spell for 3dfx, the GPU industry needs more competition.
I do not think it as a rant, but as a point of view. And I do not think AMD loses you over lousy PR. Because in the end you want good hardware which is capable to deliver required performance in certain price scope. And while 4GB vram is let down for many. Unless Fiji with HBM is tested and proven to be crappy on 4k where AMD aims with it, 4GB would become immediately enough for 1440p & 1080p. Which is resolution where most of us are anyway.

You do know if this was an nvidia video?, I would say the same thing? It is not about amd bashing at all. You do know most of the people posting in this thread basically share the same opinion right? Why don`t you quote some of those people. because this convo with you is over.
The idea of PR like this isn't to make people think "Wow this is the best thing ever" it's simply to get people thinking about the product. Ranting about how bad the PR is just another form of spreading the message and they're targeting both people who are easily amused and those who think they aren't, as long as you're thinking about the product, in their eyes, they win. Whether or not its really successful remains to be seen, personally I think everyone in marketing is a unchained sociopath and cant be trusted.
That does not even qualify as a teaser. It showed and conveyed nothing. Where's the beef? How can one be teased with something they have seen before on many occasions? Anything PR wise coming out of AMD has been nothing but garbage, several years running. The only thing they have done well is their new tech slides. It appears they have a group of Sheldons in their marketing department.
I don't care if it's AMD, Nvidia, Intel or Jesus. AMD are not doing themselves any favors here, this is coming from a past HD 7950 CFX owner, who also owned HD 6870, X1800XT, X1900XTX and many more of their cards, no fanboism here. I'm just calling it as I see it.
I don't think it was lame, I think it was pretty cool. People are expecting the card after all so.. why not release a little teaser video.. I for one am WAITING FOR THE CARD, CAN'T F*CKING WAIT. I'll definitely buy it... (first want to see how reviews are etc.. don't want to be a first buyers fool..). lol it's a card that makes sound, wouldn't that be cool huh, a card that makes an out of world sound when used, and working full in games... awesome.. XD
That video could have been any card so it really has nothing to do with the card itself and more to do with hype generation and thats whats annoying.
Better to dont use 1 month outdated WHQL, the time they goes to MS, be tested, come back, goes back then again to MS, WHQL are allready old.
