Along with the Radeon RX 6x50XT series, AMD promised free games. AMD has announced which titles will be available, and they are Saints Row and Sniper Elite 5.... AMD Goves Saints Row or Sniper Elite 5 for Radeon RX 6000 Raise the Game bundle
Let me take a guess, the coin hunters don't purchase the VGAs in pallets as they used to anymore, do they?
Would have thought Sniper Elite 5 being an AMD sponsored game, would support FSR 2, but its only going to support v1, as is Hitman 3 with its new patch. AMDs FSR 2 dead already ?
I don't know about other people, but I'd prefer them to not bundle any games but cut $60 in price. It's very unlikely, I know.
SE5 is in serious need of a better game engine - not cutting edge, more "DX9 leftover". The original crysis looks better
I found saints row 2 hilarious and a great game, I remember playing 3 .... But I do not remember anything about it so I guess forgettable.... And I had no clue saints row 4 was even out ! Hmm from your post seems they kept the downturn ;p Edit: hmm why I thought you said saints row 4?.... Man I should stop checking guru3d right when I wake up on the phone ... Wait after the coffee !
That is true. But if they are a small developer with limited budget. And if they ditch their own engine, they probably would have to go with UE5. And the Rebellion engine does have one big advantage over Unreal Engine: no stutter and hitching I played Sniper Elite 4 and Zombie Army 4, and there was absolutely no issues with shader compilation and asset streaming.
Rebellion own the rights to ALL 2000AD (so, Judge Dredd, Judges Anderson, Strontium Dog, Rogue Trooper etc etc etc) intellectual property and are independently published by themselves. They are not small. They also have have their own film production company with their own film production studio...that they own outright. May I also take this moment to recommend the following Judge Anderson graphic novel, because you can still get it in paperback, in glorious black and white
Yes they own some IPs. But consider that their Revenue for 2021 of 46.59 million $US Epic had a revenue of 5.7 billion for the same year. That is 122 times Rebellion's revenue. And Epic hasn´t the biggest market cap in the gaming industry. Rebellion is a privately owned company, so it doesn't have a market cap. But chances are it wouldn't be in the top 100.
It's an interesting question though, is it not? How much money would it cost to build a game engine specifically for one genre type? The last number I remember hearing about was $40m for Codemasters to make the EGO engine, which was specifically for their racing games, and I think GRID was the first, but I'd have to look that up* Anyone got any guesses? I think it would be less than $50m (game engine just for sniper franchise/FPS) But, that was the 2021 number you say? Okay, so this year, with the launch of SE5? how much you think they will make this year, bearing in mind you pointed something out => they are private, meaning that profit goes back into the company, and NOT to shareholders. Good for them. *ninja edit: https://www.mcvuk.com/development-news/codemasters-gets-ego-boost/ https://www.gamesindustry.biz/artic...e-reveals-new-name-ego-game-technology-engine
"Goves" Got my 6600XT on May 5th from a retailer not on the list so it sounds like I'm out of luck, but has anyone heard of AMD giving codes upon request?
