    AMD FX-8800P Radeon R7 & R9 M385X CrossfireX?

Is it possible to CrossfireX the Radeon R7 gfx from the FX-8800P with the Radeon R9 M385X gfx?

I'm interested to know. Even know its not known to be compatible, can the modded drivers allow CrossfireX with different cards?

    Thanks

No, it won't work. I have 9830P with RX 550X, but you should use modded drivers cuz it will help you alot!

    1. Yes, it's a laptop system.
    2. Yes and no, latest Amernime driver is 22.10.1 but a new driver is going to get released shortly with support for GCN + Polaris, this way you'd have WDDM 2.7 (the old driver for the APU) and WDDM 3.1 for Polaris (the new drivers from AMD)

So, amernime 22.10.1 doesn't support this hw combo, but will support it in next version? I have 9830P and RX460.

I've been on their official support for a while now, opened two tickets, trying to explain this is dumbass thing to do with drivers, and asking for proper update at least once a year containing both drivers in a single package.

But in that large company, consisting of 3 customer service agents, most of the time i get answered by Pratap. And the guy, like a dying horse, keeps insisting on using OEM driver from 2018.

    O
OEM only APU, I can see why he suggests the OEM driver

Yeah, because he has no clue all drivers up to 21.5. are good (at least should be but i got tired of downloading and reinstalling them to check, so i use 20.4.x something)

I mean, do both GPU work with 22.10.1 driver, or APU only and you need to wait new amernime driver?
I assume it's switchable graphics system where RX550X is powered down and is used only when you assign application to use it?

Both GPU's will use the new improved driver, and yes you can select to power down the dedicated gpu when it's not used

Which setting during installation you need to choose for this to work?
I installed the driver and both GPU work. RX460 detected as RX560X Series

Thats just for compatibility thing, don't worry. New driver should release this days, and it might be easier there to select which one to install.

Yeah, I'll wait and see how it goes with new driver. Noticed the power down is problematic even with official amd drivers on win10. Works perfect on win7 though.

I need it because when you modify clocks/voltages it screws up performance and only GPU reinit helps
