maybe so. but by the time that happens, amd will have already lost all those potential sales.
yeah unfortunately the damage has been done whatever the case is.
But no i still wont buy it based on the power consumption alone.
yep, as I do not think that the full power of this CPU is unleashed. If I really read the Hilbert review in detail I have the feeling that the man is rather playing safe and try not to take any radical conclusion. Also not so many single threaded benches, where i7 just crash Bulldozer, were listed...
Good review G3D, it's a pity the 8 cores didn't really help these chips much...
According to a UK seller, the FX chips arnt available untill 21/10/11. http://www.********************/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-311-AM&groupid=701&catid=6&subcat=1942
time for AMD to do damage control. i wonder who gets blamed first?
good job AMD, you made Intel get a boost to their sales.
Looks like I'll be staying with Intel for my next upgrade.
If the 8150 was about €50 cheaper, I'd jump on it.
But the fact is, its no faster - and sometimes slower than a 4 core i5 2500k.
Sure, in some tasks it keeps up with the 2600K, but that's not good enough for €220 after this long. I'd rather spend the extra €40 and have a 2600K that still smashes everything AMD has.
So that's my next upgrade. 2600K.
AMD share price will plummet.
(eh, not just because of me lol - i'm sure many who were waiting have now made their minds up)
I can see now where the 'man with a shovel' remark came from...
Do you get that funky oval silver badge that Hilbert keeps showing? :nerd:
i think thats just for reviewers.
I thought I switched out my 1055T to early and was waiting for bulldozer to get rid of it haha lol. I just could not wait any longer never went Intel before so I decided 2600K im glad I made that choice now I was hoping that the 8 cores per core performance was going to be at least even with the I7's what a big disappointment the processor sucks it's no fatser than a phenom 2 and the memory controller is an improvement not that major lol. Like to see them do benchmarks with a 5GHZ 2600K that will really give AMD a whoppin since the 4.6GHZ 8 core can hardly beat a 4 core at 3.4GHZ.
What a flop an see lab 501 was right all along results tally
man if intel controlled the market we'd probably live in a much slower paced computer age. You guys should stop playing favorites and hope each time that AMD can keep pace with intel so as the monopoly can't start.
My Athlon II x4 645 @ 3.7 is about as fast in a lot of things tbh.
Not worth it at all.
Buy AMD shares this week lads, they're gonna plummet.
All i can say is FailDozer! all other sites like Tom's Hardware and Hardware Canucks shows bulldozer gettin whoop by 2600k even i7 920 in gaming.
heres one in Tom's Hardware. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/fx-8150-zambezi-bulldozer-990fx,3043-20.html
Im reading About Rumors that WIndows 7 isnt supporting Faildozer turbo mode crap well guess what this processor is a failure nothing u can do about it u can keep hoping it will get better but u will just be disappointed. I think Intel Just Sealed Amd's Faith Wit intels Upcoming Sandy Bridge E this bulldozer will be Fish Food! then Pile Drivers Comes out Boom Intel will counter it again wit something faster.
Hey thats a bloody good idea. ......... Cheers.
I can understand the whole in your face thing with your 1000$ cpu, but whats truly gonna be the deciding factor is not this CPU. Its gonna be the trinity. AMD is gonna be king in the APU market. They have shown they can withstand multicore applications better than intel currently and pairing say 6 cpu cores with 2 gpu cores... its gonna get very interesting down the line.
This current cpu clearly is the framework for that one.
Nice.... really nice....
I post-poned my platform upgrade nearly 4 months just to see what BullDozer would/could do... I was so close to purchase a Core i5 2500K setup in july... I could just as well have gone ahead with that and 0 regrets.
I've had AMD CPU's for the last 14 years (a long with some Intel systems also), but this puts the nail in the coffin. For the first time I will no longer be having an AMD and an Intel system... now it's pure Intel within these walls.
