¿Any one have this problem on the fury X?

Drop fps all the time ( Any 3d app ) from 1050 to 300 Mhz Gpu core clock

    No Oc

    Crimson-16.6.1, and same problem Crimson-16.5.3

    Windows 10 x64

Clock goes down in games which are not sending requests for rendering (Heavy CPU bound games). Culprit is your CPU.
Disable Power Efficiency in driver, that helps a lot in those situations.
But if it is in Dota 2. Then it is purely fail on engine side. That game can utilize GPU properly only under Vulkan.

Edit: And your GPU temperature is 68°C on lower, so it may be like 72°C at higher.
That means your cooling is not working properly. So you may be thermally throttled.
Post photo of your case, so we can see how you mounted radiator.

There are 2 good ways to mount it, 1 acceptable and 2 horrific. I remember one French site to claim that it is worst cooling ever because their GPU reached 100°C very fast.

Thats the biggest issue, right now theres no other replacement. We dont know what "big" polaris (if it exist) is able to do and Vega is too far away...

But once similar or better performance gfx from AMD hits the selves, furyx sell price will go down fast.

Aaaaah received my Sapphire Fury X today, aannnnd the fan is defective, the motor made bad noise (no it's not whine, not the pump either, it's really mechanical).

But I don't like RMA a card for this, so I opened the card, removed the fan, and put an old 120cm I had in stock on it (well, the radiator), and connected it to the motherboard. No PWM by the card right now, but I ordered a 4-Pin PWM Male Fan Connector to 4-Pin Female Mini GPU Fan Connector Adapter Cable, so I can connect it to the Fury again, and have variable speed back.

No pump whine, so that's the good part...

Why did you buy Fury X this late into its life cycle? Unless your r9-290 died, there would be no reason to buy it.
And even then, I would wait for Polaris release as there is likely to be price shift.

    Not a good timing indeed...

A 480 wont be too far from the Fury with half price point. (IF the bench leaked are legit)

Ill try to sell the FuryX and get a polaris until Navi, maybe im able to recover some money in the way.

It talks about the fan revving issue and how some people are disappointed with the noise. That's it.

Yes but this is not the Sole Point of this article there ;-)
Point is in The Decibel lev. of reference GPU's and BIASED review lol
    R290X ---> Fury-X ----> GTX1080

Review of R9 290x: "You're free to manually specify Certainly higher maximum fan speeds than the 40% I used, but it's pretty telling That even AMD's Uber mode stops at 55%. Again, we're dealing with a reference cooler That makes a lot of noise once it gets going. " In Quiet Mode the fan produces 45.2 decibels.

Review of the 1080 GTX: "It's a nice broad whooshing / airflow noise, and the fan's motor can never really be picked out. This is a lot better than the cheap axial fans That AMD used to put on its reference designs". The fan of GTX1080 produces 46.8 decibels.

According to Angelini, the 46,8db (A) of GTX1080FE are less noisy 45,2db of (A) of the R9 290x.

Or, from the review of Fury X: "The almost 34 dB (A) produced by the radiator's fans at idle are a bit too much, especially since the GPU is cool enough. Yet again, the root of the problem can be found in the form of the fans, Which Produces audible bearing and motor noises. Under load, the setup is not exactly silent, but it's still quieter than almost all air-cooled graphics cards ". The Fury X, under stress, produces 34 dB (A).

I don't know who is biased, I don't know what they're talking about here.

46.8 dBA can ***seem*** quieter than 45.2dBA depending on the profile of the noise, that isn't necessarily bias, it's perception.

If not quieter, less annoying, you notice it less.

I have My AiO Nepton 280L and on Full its about ~40dB --> and believe me its audiable then.
Of course i don't need Fans on Full so i never hear them in ~20-25dB

But dB in Test is an dB in test (objective VS subjective )
    "
    1. Subjective information or writing is based on personal opinions, interpretations, points of view, emotions and judgment. It is often considered ill-suited for scenarios like news reporting or decision making in business or politics.
    2. Objective information or analysis is fact-based, measurable and observable. "

Yeah but there are some scales that try to take account for this
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A-weighting

At the same time, I expect some of the readings posted in reviews to confuse dB with dB (A) which is the one I linked above. How we perceive noise is subjective, an effectively quieter noise can be more noticeable and/or more irritating than an effectively higher noise with a different profile. Coil whine is generally very quiet but it drives people insane, quite literally, I killed six people while watching the original Crysis 1 splash screens

A lot of the reviews of the 1080 reference edition mention the fan noise being a 'pleasant whooshing sound', as opposed to a blood-curdling whine

If i finaly manage to sell my FuryX around 500€... the coming choice will be hard to make :infinity:

480 and wait for vega... 1070 and screw vega for being late...

480 and screw 1070 once you know performance of 480. :)
Take rest of cash as investment into Vega :)
