An automatic overclocking tool has been incorporated into the Radeon Software tool that comes bundled with these new drivers, allowing you to improve the overall performance of your system with a sing... AMD drivers Adrenalin 2020 21.9.1 support automated overclocking
I have had a "automatic OC" for the GPU in my Radeon control panel for a long time. It also has an undervolt option. It hasn't been that good - system becomes unstable and crashes almost every time I touch an OC on this card - or just runs too hot for the minimal performance increase to be worth it. But maybe I'm just bad at it.
Same here, ever since I got my 5700XT, the option was there. But as you mentioned, it doesn't actually work. The driver keeps crashing, even though I'm on a custom loop and temps aren't an issue.
I've had absolutely no problem with the OC feature for my 5700xt. Works in all the games I play with no problems at all. I've only recently tried the undervolt feature with no problems either. Haven't messed with the ram OC feature though. But I will say that I replaced all my thermal pads with fujipoly ultra extreme and re-applied thermal paste with thermal grizzly.
I tried it the other day, not the new one, but the older one on 21.8.2, and it did say "2140mhz core" and something on RAM that I forgot. I clicked "OK" and played some The Ascent for about 10 minutes before the driver crashed and reverted to base settings. So, dunno it doesn't really help if I OC myself, either. It'll crash at some point or other no matter what. I haven't managed to get it to sit at any kind of stable OC ever, but again, maybe I just don't care enough.
