AMD Chipset Drivers [Main Thread]

I really wasn't expecting this to help. Now I managed to install the majority of drivers, did a restart but these 2 are still not installing even after a restart.

 

If you have a 5000 Ryzen CPU or later, the power plans aren't used on Desktop. (They are used on laptop solutions) And yes the AMD Cleanup Utility is what I was referring to. Glad it helped out.

 

Because of course it did......



it would be great if AMD fixed this issue.

 

People with 7000 series CPU, be aware of this.
Here on my 5800X haven't seen anything out of the ordinary.

 

Didnt check but gonna do it tommorow to see if temps are higher but i doubt.

 

Working fine on laptop, but that's a 5980HX / 6800M system

 

Temps are the same here, no change.

 

Everything is fine here.

Saw here a release of 5.06.xx build of chipsets.

Is there a correct way to uninstall chipset drivers?

The uninstaller never works, and upgrading never works correctly either.... it really does seem like doing a fresh windows install to do a fresh chipset driver install is the only way.

 

I've literally installed every version over the top of the last with no issues on both AM4 and AM5 platforms.

 

Run it just now after you inspired me with your confidence of never having an issue... having not upgraded yet because I knew it would fail... it always does this for me, previous was 5.05.16.529, new of course being 5.08.02.027

This is on a windows 10 install with only the previous chipset driver installed on it so far.

 

there is an "AMD Chipset Software" entry in Installed Applications, in Windows Settings / Control Panel

 

It fails to run correctly.

 

Installed the new driver with 0 problems, all good so far.

 

I had the install issue once but that was maybe 2 years ago

now i just run the installer over top of previous install and it is fine

 

Then use the AMD Cleanup Utility, and then reinstall the chipsets and your GPU drivers. This tool uninstalls all things AMD, like Ryzen Master too.

Nothing out of ordinary with my CPU temps with the new drivers. It actually got auto upgraded with chocolatey.
