    The failed updates are still there. Even downloaded an app that is supposed to help hide updates...it doesn't show they exist. Guess I will have to wait until they go away themselves

    Found this:

    After investigating the issue and looking at various user reports, here’s a list of scenarios where the 0x80070103 error is typically encountered:

    • Windows Update (WU) is trying to install a particular driver a second time – This typically happens when WU gets confused by an additional piece of identical hardware such as a graphics adapter.
    • Windows Update (WU) is trying to install an update to an already installed driver – This is known to happen with unsuitable versions of the already installed driver.
    An MS VP suggests installing the latest version of Windows 11 to "possibly" cure the issue. I am already up to date and this sounds a bit drastic

    Just ran the Windows Update troubleshooter....ran for quite awhile and did nothing, even though it detected problems...

    Uninstalled the offending devices...and the windows update cleared...rebooted and Devices reinstalled themselves with the most up to date drivers and nothing in Windows update...how crazy is this

    I had the same issue with an UWP video driver some time ago. I had to go to the Windows driver store directory and install manually the new driver. So the next time when Windows checks for updates it doesn't appear anymore.
    If I deinstall the driver later, Windows again can't install it during Windows Update.

    Already installed drivers can be managed easily with DriverStoreExplorer but the failed driver may not be enumerated by the program.

    I fixed the problem completely with a clean installation of Windows.

    It's different than the usual chipset driver installer GUI, and only wanted to "update" (downgrade) two devices, I think GPIO and PSP. The version numbers are older than the latest driver off AMD's site currently.

    Does any OEM do anything to modify Intel or AMD chipset drivers?

    It's certainly possible, as AMD may make an OEM a custom driver pack to address some issue they reported. My lappy is an Asus, who designs the firmware to be compatible with AMD releases. Some makers require custom driver packs, *cough* Dell *ahem*.

    Version 5.01.29.2026 WHQL should be of particular interest for users planning to buy an upcoming Ryzen 7000X3D series processor. The chipset driver includes the "3D V-Cache Performance Optimizer driver" component, version 1.0.0.7. This gives Windows a degree of awareness of the asymmetric nature of 3DV cache on the 16-core 7950X3D and 12-core 7900X3D, where only one of the two CCDs (chiplets) has the 3DV cache memory, while the other is a regular "Zen 4" CCD with 32 MB on-die L3 cache. This awareness should in theory improve performance in less-parallelized workloads (such as games). From the looks of it, the optimization works for both Windows 11 and Windows 10.
