At work right now, a fast question:
Is there somebody with a 290(X)/390(X) getting 3840x2160 (4K) VSR option with this drivers in single GPU mode (Crossfire disabled)?
4K VSR (desktop and FS 3D) works with the mentioned GPUs using modded drivers who has VSR enabled and UNLOCKED.
Maybe AMD needs 6 more months to officially add this resolution (in single GPU mode) to these GPUs as it needed 6 months to add series 7000 "impossible" VSR...
280x is not supported yet :stewpid:
Yep, its missing on my card - the drivers installed just fine and it was all done via a clean install of them - yet the VSR option is missing.
They work way they are designed. But they should work quite differently.
FRTC should have available range covering all screen refresh rates. That means 30~144fps.
VSR should support all aspect ratios.
And all down sampled resolutions should have maximum refresh rate equal to refresh rate of screen in native resolution.
Therefore down sampling from 2160p to 1080p should allow 144Hz mode as long as it is refresh rate which connected screen can do on 1080p native resolution.
For me choice between 1080p @120Hz vs 2160p @60Hz is clear. I'll take 120Hz any day.
Therefore both features are practically unusable for me.
Our good reps should deliver this information to driver team. Because for them, it is question of few minutes to fix FRTC and maybe few hours to finish VSR.
I love questions like these. No game listed, etc. :wanker:
What I meant was, they are working...
R9 280X user here, VSR is there for me:
Also, FRC is there as well:
Try to reinstall drivers.First time it given me some warning and drivers weren't installed properly.
Then I uninstalled drivers via Windows, booted into Safe mode and uninstalled & cleaned the rest of it with DDU.Booted back into Windows and installed 15.7 drivers, restarted and voilla, it worked.
EDIT: Windows 7 Ultimate x64
lol you're pretty rude dude.
get a Fury X you will have more fun with that!
why would you switch to team green just bcause you have a 5 year old card?
you prefer paying 1000$ for a titan instead of 690$ for a fury which performs as good and even better in 4K?
you're just hateposting and provoking.
you will need to update your card sooner or later anyway.
did your 270X not work with the latest drivers before 15.7?
Still no fix to GTA V on 280X... or AMD just forgot about it and take it away bcuz nobody will ask anymore ? Or just disabling MSAA is just a fix xD
You mean the maxed Post-FX + MSAA? Update your GTA V.
Tried a re-install of the driver/CCC and still no VSR showing up for me, i'll leave it for now as i can at least access CCC in this build (1023.7 just would not work for me at all) - still weird though that its not showing up.
Use CRU and add the resolution you want, say (2560x1440), run restart64. You should then see the resolution you added in Windows, don't select it,.
Run the game and the resolution should be there. That's all what VSR does.
I think he was talking about the frame limiter
I'm not so sure those are easy fixes. It could require a fair amount of work to reimplement VSR in order to completely decouple it from the display. And those frame rates were not arbitrarily chosen (I hope).
AMD is purposefully holding back those settings in order to enable them in the next major release.
But those are things they should do, and probably will do, because it's obviously a good idea.
no vsr option for me on my 290x
