Use the ingame fps limit to reduce the stutter, worked for me. Anyways had to stop playing the game due to the xp bug. And the shadows flicker and npc pop up is annoying.

Ok does anyone else notice shadows pop up and flicker even when up close to the object casting the shadow or is it just me? Tried different settings and it's still present.

    Hi there,

On TW3, my 7950's CFX really hard to show steady 60fps at 2560x1080 (Fullscreen, 40-60fps, vsync on, AA off, Hairworks OFF, Ultra settings), there are too many stuttering :-(... For somethings very smooth, I am obliged to fps limit @30... Very playable and smooth... but 30fps :-(

In single card mode, i 've noticed less fps than with the http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=399245 ,whichever the level of details used in game :-(

Glad to see some folks getting better/good performance. Sucks when you're the only one and trying to figure out why I'm so special, when i'm not...lol.

Need to try Hairworks again. Haven't tried it since the new driver. Just happy I can run CF @ 60fps

For those who are suffering from stuttering with CrossFire enabled, trying using Vsync. For some reason, the profiles likes Vsync.

Still borken ULPS for amd hd6XXX series since 14.9 release (including)...please take a look on that...if it's enable (like it's by default) it makes windows to freeze 4 mins on every boot or hibernate and if you disabled it, the notebook begin to consume more energy....more than half year with this bug and before of 14.9 release it works great. Thanks!

    Edit: Tested on W7/W8.1 - 64 bit

Can't deal with AMD anymore. I just ordered to 970 and will sell my two 290 through ebay. Nvidia has too much of a hold over the pc gaming market.

Well if you don't mind telling for how much they get sold for on ebay, because i am thinking about doing the same thing.

    Ouch!!!!

Take care some AMD fanboys could kill you for posting this charts. :)

FPS and frametimes are CLEARLY worst in the Red GPU corner.

To be fair this article shows Project CARS AMD vs Nidia GPU benchmarks performed before the last drivers but the improvements we get from last drivers is only around 10% from users reports.

The gap exposed is not so big...by a small margin.

Oh look. Another Project Cars benchmark. The way you made your claim as if nvidia has a 50% performance lead over each and every game title their is out there by optimizing their drivers. Project Cars is in no way a realistic benchmark of any hardware's capabilities. But to each to their own.

Here's a benchmark from the same site you quoted, and nvidia got a 50% lead over the competition by optimizing their CPU overhead indeed.

I agree Nvidia is NOT outperforming AMD GPUs in the same level in every game but...

...Are not this drivers (15.5) about Project CARS and The Witcher 3 specific improvements?

You of all people should know it isn't gonna happen. Witcher 3's CrossFire profile might improve in the long run but as long as there're PhysX libraries being used in games, it's not going to help AMD to achieve any performance improvements in Project Cars. nvidia fans will tell you it's just AMD's poor drivers, SMS will tell you the same, but it aint the truth. It is common sense that the PhysX middleware offloads calculations to CPU if it doesn't find a CUDA capable hardware as the Primary display adapter. The result? Common sense. Unreal Tournament 3 PhysX based maps would run at 7-8 FPS on a HD 4850 equipped with Dual Cores back then and would run flawlessly on a 9800 GT. But, if the AMD card has lets say a 9500 GT card present in the system to help with the PhysX calculation, it yielded better frame rates than the 9800GT with PhysX on. Need I say more?

Someone should bench Project Cars with a GTX 460 in the same system with a driver hack that will offload the PhysX calculations on it and see how it performs. But nope, aint nobudy got tym fo dat :infinity:.

Project Cars don't load the Physics to Nvidia GPUs.
I can assure you that, i have an nvidia too, and its prooved too that the final version of the game don't use PhysX on the GPU on nvidia too.

It was planned to have a lot of effects but SMS throw them away.
Windows 10 really improves the performance of project cars on AMD, unfortunaly 15.5B almost doesn't increase nothing comparing to 15.4B. I gain 18FPS over 15.4B or 15.5B

I forced my nvidia to use PhysX on GPU and CPU in 2 different tests, there was no difference in performance and even the PhysX indicator was always saying PhysX > CPU, being on low, médium, high or ultra.

So its not PhysX, could be something else, but its trully not physX.

I remember those Unreal Engine 3 maps, those ones used physX was impossible on AMD :D, i had nvidia in that time, not the 9800GT but a 9500GT, it runned like crap XD

I totally agree with you AMD is in the midlle of a SMS/Nvidia "operation" with Gameworks involved.

We all know Project CARS developer didn't get money from Nvidia cause all game circuits are full of AMD ads! :D

    LOL

I think AMD should be more agresive in defense of his interest and in defense of his customer interest.

Specially in the PR side even involving the legal department.

AMD can't allow Nvidia to gain the performance war and the PR war at the same time.

Do you know this posibity was definitely closed a few months ago?

I mean hybrid PhysX setups stopped to work. (AMD GPU+Nvidia weak GPU dedicated to PhysX)

    Another win for Nvidia...

Project CARS "fixes" itself if you either a) run it on Windows 10 that includes the draw calls and other CPU->GPU optimizations for AMD, b) decrease the amount of things at the same time on the screen by turning off grass and tuning down track detail.

I honestly don't believe that there's such a great Physx mystery behind it. If there was, the performance under Windows 10 would have been the same.
