I wouldn't mind if we got betas only but AMD aren't giving us much of them either!
So this driver is still not officially released?
15.5 isn't anything new.
This driver runs 25% faster in Project Cars for me when I'm CPU bound.
And you have a GTX 960? lol
Even though "The Witcher 3" was delayed (which means AMD had more than enough time at their disposal to optimize the game for their hardware properly), there is still no sign of the new driver, which should have been ready by now. What are the people at the driver team still waiting for? The game runs relatively fine on my rig (at 1080p, while using the High presets for both the Post-processing and Graphics options excl. Hairworks, which is currently turned off, I get between 30 and 40 FPS with the framerate occasionally dropping under 30 FPS for a split second or going over 40 FPS in some areas), but I'm pretty sure there's still room for improvement. I really hope the official driver doesn't disappoint and manages to squeeze every last drop of performance from my GPU (I'm using Catalyst 15.4 at the moment).
Also, the frametimes can get very high in some scenarios (at some point I noticed that the frametime was exceeding 30 MILISECONDS).
I have different cards and hardware.
True, they need more but unfortunately they dont have budget and R&D like others. The WHQL driver is not important since every driver from them(even beta) do a good job.
But im happy with the last driver in every game, and thank them for fast response to release that driver for Gta V.
With The Witcher 3 still no problems here. Just do a profile for TW3 and make some adjustment to AF&Tess.
For witcher everything seems to be running fine, stability wise, performance is a mess, i am getting 51-62 fps on medium details on 1920x1080 on my 270x.
I hope new drivers or new game updates will boost the performance a little.
Nvidia seems to have much better driver support than AMD. I really hope things will change at AMD. I am not someone who changes vendor really quickly.. But if it continues to be this way at AMD, my next GPU's will be from Nvidia.
No it's not, they cripple their older generation cards on purpose. :3eyes:
Ah okay that's what I wanted to know, too bad. I would love to try out the Windows 10 drivers on my Windows 7 x64 install but I hate dealing with the driver signature enforcement and the resulting watermark and all :/
I see how they support their cards. You remember gtx680 that competed with 7970, where is that card? My 280X aka 7970 beats 780 i TW3.
Meh, people always complain.
... and latest GeForce drivers have so many stability issues.
No need to change a team.
Anyone who purchased that card, really got their money worth and still are.
My 290x runs at 35% of my GTX970 on this driver, so if this is there awaited fix it's an embarrassment!
Could you describe the issues to me as best as you can .. maybe it has the same cause as the underlining technologies between crossfire and switchable graphics is quite similar from what I understand.
With switchable graphics AMD simply cannot process any of the XAML applications on AMD. (Considering CCC is switched to Max Performance and is forced to display all applications on AMD)
That means it cannot get passed the login screen. Start Button, Settings, all XAML applications in short.

in my book if performance is a mess in a game then this game is not working fine.
All W10 driver updates have had WHQL signature so it has been like 10 days.
