Download AMD Catalyst 15.4 Beta - this is the 0fficial driver with Grand Theft Auto V support.... AMD Catalyst 15.4 Beta Download
Haven't tried out my games as I just did a fresh install of W 8.1, but so far I lost 300pts on Firestrike (very choppy no matter what I try) and my PC sits in the top 7% and not the top 3%. When I apply my OC I get the same results. Odd. Going to try FC4 and see if CFX is working ok now. Update: Impressed with the performance boost in FC4. Maxed out settings (even the nVidia ones) with MSAAx4 @ 1920x1200 I am averaging 60-90fps. 6040x1080 Eyefinity maxed settings no AA I am averaging 45fps. Last beta drivers 1920x1200 maxed no AA no nVidia effects I got 20-119fps with stuttering.
Installed and played some of GTA5 and wow! What a difference the pc is. Well, haha, I only played the PS3 version but still. The First person view and also the 60 fps frames with Vsync. SO far no issues! Thanks AMD for the update.
Does anybody have any alternate download locations for this driver? AMD's download seems to take an eternity!
uploading to google drive, be a few minutes EDIT* try this http://drive.google.com/file/d/0BylLc8nTCwpuNHpHXzYzOGlvR3c/view?usp=sharing
Thanks! Alas, I made a mistake and forgot to state that I'm running Windows 7 64 bit, though, the 8.1 driver doesn't install. My bad. It should help all those Windows 8.1 users will be glad to have a quicker download than from AMD's site that seems to be crawling slowly today (15 KB/s download on a 250MBit/sec line...argh), however! So thanks again! Edit: I see the drivers are up on the site now and downloading fast, thanks Hilbert!
Can I do a dirty install over 14.12 Omega? Or should I do it the DDU way? Anyone encountered any issues with this beta driver?
Just tried out Sleeping Dogs-DE and performance is through the roof! Eyefinity 6040x1080 maxed settings (normal AA) I am averaging 55fps. 100fps+ if I switch to max AA @ 1920x1200. Word of caution though. I have never seen both my GPUs max out at 100% each, even when benchmarking but it does for SD-DE. In fact it overheated my system and God bless Gigabyte's rock solid BIOS/mobo as it turned my system off before any damage could occur. My PSU was scortching, my RAM could fry eggs; when I opened the side it was akin to opening the oven when the pizza is done. Had to put a fan in front to vent out the air for 10 minutes before I could turn the system back on. I have a Corsair C70 with maxed out fans and my AIO CPU cooler is in push/pull and my PSU has an aftermarket Noctua 140mm fan; ventilation is not an issue. Be warned! :3eyes:
