    Interesting tip! Thanks

And here I was thinking Nvidia is still stuck @ openCL 1.1, even though they said r343 branch is openCL1.2 compatible..

lol guess its them software readings reading it wrong :nerd:

    Full OpenCL1.2 also and OpenCL 2.0 62%

Funny enough Intel igpu has 100% openCL 2.0, while cpu only part has the same 87%.

I've read through this entire thread and still don't know if this driver works with my pair of MSI 290X Lightnings.
Any idea what would also work with my ASUS ARES II?
My ARES II has been stashed away for quite a while now, waiting on some decent drivers.
This is yet another card that ASUS sells and then forgets about and never updates.
I was going to try for an ARES 3, but IDK now.
It'll probably be yet another natural born orphan.

These drivers are giving me a ton of Informational Event Log entries. They all look like this:

    0000002499: 2014-09-28 14:08:04:297 Exception <Saving Xml Document>: Access to the path 'C:\ProgramData\ATI\ACE\Profiles.xml' is denied.

I'm talking about thousands of them.

If the device ID of your 290X Lightings is on the list of supported IDs on the first post, I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Give it a try and report back how it goes :)

Driver is working great for me, good performance and normal temps.

The only thing is not working is GPU-Z, it crashes with a "could not start driver" warning.
    Not big stuff though.

    Thanks asder. :)

I know this doesn't mean much, but I ran benchmarks on the 14.4 drivers right before installing these:

Catalyst 14.4 in normal font and 14.x RC1 in BOLD

    Tomb Raider - 78.4 fps 81.2 fps
Metro: Last Light - 69.24 fps 71.67 fps
    Unigine Valley - 2435 2446
    3dmark Firestrike - 8949 9359

    i5 3570k
    8GB RAM
    Gigabyte Windforce R9 290 @ 1085/1333

Temps rose maybe 2 or 3 degrees but nowhere near as bad as the 14.6/14.7 drivers caused.

You run a single GPU that's why you have no problems those of us who use 2 or more on the other hand

they could fix the OpenCL 2.0 issue with CFX before release

I've had that error forever also get ones for AOD not starting because it's not a signed x64 driver you'd think by now they could've fixed this

Thanks for the info! But as these drivers gave me some crashes, I'll stick to the 14.8 WHQLs...

Modded drivers are killers on my system... Prone to crash with them!

I was mainly talking about my 7660G + 7670M muxless laptop (dual-graphics enabled). I haven't actually tried the driver on my 7850 yet (it's in RMA atm).

I haven't tried anything with OpenCL though to be fair; just some web browsing, video playback, and games.
