AMD Catalyst 14.x BETA (14.300.1005.0 August 27)

I mentioned earlier about the installation of the AMD USB filter driver (even though not an AMD system). DO NOT install it if you run an Intel system!

All seems fine for a start, but after the computer was in standby for a while it did not wake by keyboard or mouse (both USB). This is the first time it happened. I also have a USB connected hard drive. When I shut down the system the USB drive kept running, and the system 'froze' on boot (trying to initialise the hard drive, after a minute or two it 'booted') but the drive wasn't available in Windows. I uninstalled the USB filter drive and everything back to normal now!

It's only 'available' due to something with the driver modding, it's not Asder's fault or anything . Just thought I'd make people aware that you need to manually deselect it for all non-AMD chipset systems. Also, as someone mentioned the ACP utility is for TrueAudio, if you don't have it, don't install it! (or select to uninstall it).

 

AMD Start Now doesn't work and drivers seem very unstable on my laptop. AMD A6 3420M and 6520G + HD7670M graphics. Needed to do a System Restore through Advanced Startup Options.

Going back to 14.8 WHQL.

 

i didn´t install ACP aplication and AMD Start Now and work fine.

 

I'm getting weird blocky shadows wit this one in Warframe, can anyone else verify ?

 

deleting or rename the file Battlefield 4\Data\Win32\WeaponChunks.sb to weaponchunks.sb.bak and the stutter will be much much less and memory leak no more.

 

It's probably got to do with the detection routine being modified. The driver is no doubt fine, it's one of those extra components that wouldn't be installed with the unmodified driver.

I would suggest you follow the advice in the post above and not install those two components .

 

Mantle started to work much better.
Lost stuttering, but sometimes there is a drawdown.
But without this file is missing sounds - reloading, defibrillator, badge and other things.
Memory consumption has decreased (899MB of 1024MB) , earlier consumed more 1024MB.

 

Can you be more specific what files exactly? I only have

 

I won't delete that file cause it can get you Punkbuster banned. BTW the memory leak is still there using mantle. I will test some other games to see but dx11.1 in BF4 feels better but that could be my new 2400mhz memory

 

Dude where have you been in the last one and a half months? I had this memory leak issue from July update and I tried all sorts of s.... to fix it, read allot of forums full of trolls who said that is AMD fault but nothing worked and now in 30 second is done. Thank you very much.
Anyway the driver is good especially on B4. On Watch Dogs and Metro 2033 Redux is the same as 14.8 witch is good.

In the Star Swarm benchmark, I went from 40fps with 14.7RC3 to 45fps with driver under Mantle.

 

Why would pb ban you? If you delete this i'm guessing it makes new fresh ones...didn't try it yet,waiting if more people can confirm this.

Im in the same boat as you, been away for june, in july they got that patch out that basicaly got me off the game till like monday when some dude on battlelog discovered it was this file that was causing the stutters and was grabbing all the memory.

PB wont ban you for that, its no different than having a corrupt bf install, no new files there so the signature is matching. some sounds are missing but i rather play with some sounds missing than a stutter fest and no game at all.

 

I renamed the weaponchunks files and i played a full game without getting an error...will test some more.

The memory leak is definetly gone with this,but its annoying not to hear the vihecle sounds and reloading sounds.

 

Hi, in my rig... Work fine in Game (Dark Souls 2), YouTube and chrome 64 bit in Windows 8.1 x64, but when i open or close Catalyst Control Center, show a window with: "CCC: Host application stopped Working".

 

Remove drivers with DDU in safe mode
