They were doing great with updates and fixes one the average. And after 14.6 it hasnt been worth a damn.
Sorry your having the issues mate. It sucks.

Guess I am just lucky with any issues that I faced being easily fixed or a workaround.

I havent noticed the heat issues alot of people have had.
Im running my card on AIO Water cooler with air cooling on the vrm. Vrms never go above 60c and card never goves above 50c with a 1200rpm single 120 fan.

Ah Im fine with 14.4, no problems at all, temps and stability are great, performance is great, I just think its a joke that they release all these new drivers, beta or otherwise, and not one bug from many reports and builds ago have been addressed or fixed or even looked at

What's the point in a bug reporting form if no-one fixes anything reported

Loads of people are stuck on 13.12, can't even move to the 14.x builds

I do agree. I see lots of bugs go unfixed for months.
I wouldnt be on newest drivers if I didnt have to rely on mixed mode eyefinity.

    Wish I had 3x1080p instead of 1 1080p and 2 1208x1024.
Ive test 14.7rc3 on HD 5450, HD 5770, HD 7850, 7950 and really had no issues.
Different machines running Win 7 and Win 8.
Only bug that I have seen still since 2010 that I have ever experienced in the HDMI audio bug where on HD 5xxx cards you have to unplug the cable and plug it back in in desktop for HDMI audio to work.

Yea I've got 3 x 1080p which works fine with 14.4, but something they've done to the new drivers with the Eyefinity 'improvements' as they like to call them, I prefer to call them 'disasters', whenever I reboot, I have to recreate my Eyefinity setup, with 14.4 it boots back into Eyefinity fine

And the full system crashes are unacceptable too, they don't happen with 14.4, no reason they should happen with every newer driver since 14.4 and them not have fixed it yet

Yeah I have a 7950 and all of the 14.xx drivers have given me issues I have Been stuck on the 13.12 drivers for ages now.

Most of my issues have been with KCP (MPC-HC & MadVR) anything above 13.12 and playback is choppy I get higher render times and dropped frames where as when I go back to 13.12 and it is all good.

I have also had higher temps with no performance gain which is an issue for the setup I have an programs I use.

And I Agree, I try the beta drivers in full knowledge they may have issues but I report the issues in hope that they will be fixed for whql so I can use them and to be stuck on 13.12 which is what 7-9 months old, it seems to me that they do not look at or care about the feedback/bug reports.

I use DDU / Drivercleaner.net /ccleaner to remove the drivers and then check for amd/ati folders to ensure all is removed correctly.

I know peoples mileage varies as well, as some have similar setups and no issues or different issues completely.

For me I have always used ATI/AMD but the last few cards I have had they seem to have dropped focus almost straight away as soon as a new card comes out, i will be looking more seriously at a Green card when I have my next build.

    Nope.

    Not for me, at least.
When prompted to choose what you want to install, video\audio drivers are missing:

    Well, I'll stick with 14.4.
I'm not planning changing my W8 install until W9 comes out.

    I'm not really worried, though.
Everything is working fine with 14.4.

Merging the APU driver thread here makes the first page posts look silly. ;)

That is a lame as hell bug to have. I leave my eyefinity on at all times and its always restore on boot. I even turn one monitor to another input as my file/media server is plugged into my right monitor and it doesnt mess with my eyefinity group setup.

Another driver is probably coming next week, as the 285 is released.

To the people with driver issues. Do you run DDU or some other third party installers?

Before someone go bananas on how AMD "leftovers" degrade performance, etc. I dont care about that. I am testing 3 different machines with 3 generations of cards so I am trying to reproduce some of the issues mentioned in this thread. I ll see if I can find a workaround.

Only tested 2033 redux and these drivers are great just a little more heat only a couple degrees nothing serious.

Settings, All maxed out Very High (except PhysX and SSAA off of course)

    14.7 RC3
    Min 44fps
    Avg 69fps
    Max 134fps

    14.8 WHQL
    Min 51fps
    Avg 71fps
    Max 139fps

No not so much of an improvement to overall fps but minimum went up which is great! Game feels a lot smoother too.

Not tested much else, just a few games in CSGO felt smoother but CSGO always does after a new driver install, less tearing and more solid fps to be honest. I cap to 150fps in CSGO anyway to save on power consumption and heat also. 14.7RC3 and fps would hover around 145-150fps game is maxed out completely except FXAA OFF and Motion Blur OFF (hate those as they blur image). 14.8 WHQL gave me a more solid 149-150fps saw it dip once to 148fps but that was probably me entering my inventory.

These drivers do not install under Windows 8 Original.

    Thanks AMD.

On the download page it shows Windows 8 as supported, The link reads.

    "Download Windows Vista/7/8/8.1 64-bit"

    Windows 8 is not supported.

That reminds me of another Eyefinity bug that even exists in 14.4

If I have different windows open on different screens, and turn off one screen with the power button, then turn it back on again, my items from that screen are now moved to a different screen even though Eyefinity never disabled during the time I turned the LCD off and on again

AMD spoke of discontinuing Windows 8 support for a while now.

I'm curious, but why would you still be on Windows 8 when there's 8.1?

The AMD site only offers this driver for desktop APU's. 14.4 is still being delivered for discrete desktop graphics. I'm sticking with 14.4 for now.

AMD stated it would continue to provide driver support for Windows 8, but they would be the Windows 7 version of the driver for Windows 8.

So seeing this new WHQL... yeah...............................

As for the whole Windows version thing, There are changes in Windows 8.1 that are horrible when compared to 8 original, while yes it does have some nice improvements performance wise.

I've just done a fresh installation of Windows 8.1 Update 1 this morning just for this driver, and honestly.. I can see myself going back to Windows 8 again.
