2014 and which month? This is the number of the driver, not the Catalyst package.

    Why only for W8.1 x64 and Linux x64? :3eyes:

Where are the new ''normal'' drivers for W7 and HD5000 to R9 200?

We will have a big jump from 14.4 whql to 14.10 whql or so? :nerd:

Someone tested this drivers? Is it worth installing, if I use only DirectX?
    Could someone provide Build info?

It's a mobile/APU driver, but should work on desktop if modded.

I had a look at the files, the versions should be:
    OpenGL: 6.14.10.13179
    Direct3D: 9.14.10.1067
    OpenCL: 10.0.0.1598.5
    Mantle: NOT PRESENT

All the components that are present in the driver are therefore newer. For a driver mod ideally you would take the Mantle drivers from the existing drivers and add them (you can do that in the INF) and add support for the desktop CPU's.

Actually it does look that way, even in the INF's.

    :( something funny!
    AMD Radeon™ R9 290 Series
    AMD Radeon™ R7 260 Series
    AMD Radeon™ R7 260 Series
    AMD Radeon™ HD 8000 Series
    AMD Radeon™ R7 250 Series
    AMD Radeon™ HD 7000 Series
    AMD Radeon™ R7 240 Series

It doesn't list R9 280 series! Which is probably why it doesn't install for me. The R9 280 isn't just not mentioned in the article, the deviceID's are missing in the driver as well for the 280. Mine is a 280X with the deviceID 6798.

Yeah gonna edit it right now and add the missing components like mantle, then someone without a gcn card should report back if everythings works ok.

@asder, it is possible to edit it for a Windows 8 install?
Or this "block" is hardcoded someway?

Asder, for those with xfire, can you do a mod with august 27th (beta 14.x) opencl drivers. The AMD site says OpenCL 2.0 doesn't support multi gpu. I have two r9 290's in xfire.

Edit: what I mean to say is the AMD OpenCL 2.0 drivers won't install properly in a xfire system. Gets half way through and stays at a black screen.

And still that person wants to download beta/alpha/proof-of-concept drivers which weigh ~1/3 of free 8.1 update?

P.S. Also, can someone make quick gaming/overall performance tests?
Still waiting for something good/not buggy after 14.4
