Notebooks based on AMD Enduro or PowerXpress™ technologies are currently not supported by the Mantle codepath "and never will."

To warn others possibly? Maybe even enlighten others who run into a similar issue so that they at least know it isn't their fault? Or maybe someone has a solution you haven't tried. Or at the very least, prove you aren't some troll just trying to spread FUD and gain PR for NVIDIA or something (the mere fact you even mentioned NVIDIA's drivers at all is leading me to believe this)... And also, please don't base an entire community of AMD users just off of what one person says :bang:

I haven't installed these drivers yet, but I'm curious to know other's experience. I know one person's experience shouldn't be expected to match my own, but I like seeing if I run into their issues or not.

I would hope that you at least reported the "issue" to AMD via their feedback form?

I'm glad you haven't had any problems with their drivers, but there's plenty of people who have (mainly with WHQL drivers (which alone is pretty scary), but I've heard some less-than-ideal scenarios with their beta drivers too).

    1) You accuse me of trolling just because I mentioned Nvidia?
    2) You haven't even installed these drivers and I have
    3) You assume that I haven't reported these issues

I think we are done here, moving on!

No Mantle performance improvement (FIX) for BF4 in 7XXX series for me AS PROMISED!!!:puke2: ...only good thing is vsync issue (no triple buffer in some cases) seems to be solved, at least for me (unigine valley doesnt drop to 30 fps if below 60 when vsync is enabled)...once again disappointed with amd :thumbdown

PD: Also exactly 1fps increased performance in Thief :eek3:

FIX for CTD BF4 14.2 beta

This is what worked for me after an exhausting host of other things I tried first.

However I'll be a bit more specific to be helpful to those who may not completely understand what to do here.

    navigate to your C drive

Go to Program Files (x86) > Origin Games > Battlefield 4 and delete User.cfg

Until I deleted that file It would crash to desktop (CTD) every time I tried to play the game.

Restart your PC and you should be good to go.

    So far no issues on i7 3930k and 2x R9 290's.

Like 14.1 Beta 1, quite a nice performance gain in Battlefield 4 Multiplayer (2560x1440 Ultra), and much more stable in terms of crashes and stutter (None so far).

Game feels much more responsive now, and when alt-tabbing it's way faster.

geez these threads are always borked with nvidiots/nvidia corporate

Bf4 hasn't had a problem with GCN 1.0 (79XX & 280X) since the patch two weeks ago, it was Dice's mistake with the render.

These drivers are great so far, no problems... then again I didn't have problems with the other ones either.

Couple of hours multiplay on a small TDM match in BF4, and it seems as if it is some kind of memory leak (as someone else mentioned before in the thread).

Reason i say this, is that i can play a couple of rounds and then the nasty random stutter/freeze is back.. some hefty disk usage and the likes. A close of bf4 and log in again, and it seems smoother.

Sad, cos it IS a lot smoother with mantle vs dx for me atleast. But cant live with 2 second freezes in a hefty gunfight you know :p

  12. After few mins I got this... used DDU no OC etc... NICE AMD getting better :nerd:

Works fine here on windows 8.1
But not great, more or less the same as the previous drivers. So I'm not gonna use them in win7.

Like I said, it crashes only if both Mantle is enabled in game and CrossFireX in CCC, other combinations (DX11.1 + Crossfire, DX11.1, Mantle) are OK. Renamed user.cfg (even though it did not have that line in it), renamed C:\Users\user\Documents\Battlefield 4 so that the game creates a new one and the game still crashes even with a fresh config. Also it is not a plain bf4.exe crash, it'a bf4.exe crash in amdmantle64.dll.

I'll do some more experiments tomorrow, meanwhile I have reported the issue to AMD.

    LE:
It's just the Test Range, Campaign works and I also did a quick check on an unranked server running Siege of Shanghai Conquest Large.

Just tested Thief and Battlefield 4 in DX11 mode and all maxed out. Everything works flawlessly, smooth and high fps.

I did safe mode minimal DDU uninstalling and Treexy Driver Sweeper premium driver wipe out before installing.

    OS: Windows 8.1 x64

Is it freezing when that happens? Just read about a guy with the very same screen in some other forum. It happens when he's on youtube

What OS are you running? Had the same thing with Win8.1. Your right about being in firefight and suffer the dreaded freeze frame, you dont even see how you got killed when playing Mantle. I was under the impression they were going to fix that. My game does that in Mantle when GPU vram gets to 3.875 gigs used vi GPU-Z.

Tested a bit more and driver appears to be awesome for crysis 3 and gives no problems with other games unlike previous beta. Good driver overall, at least for me and my taste :)

I'm awaiting for February 28th to get my copy of thief, yes, i'm from Europe and pre-ordered retail box version of the game so i'm awaiting for courier.
