I simply used DDU on Win7 to remove my drivers and re-installed 13.12 and everything's running just fine now. I fetched those 2 particular files in the 13.12 driver since I still had the package as you suggested. I did notice that when searching for OpenCl.dll, only AMD_OpenCL32.dll & AMD_OpenCL64.dll came up as results. I then renamed both files to OpenCl.dll and tried them one at a time and unfortunately, it's still a no go. I've already wasted several hours to try to find a workaround so I would like to know if you're certain the ones from the APP package are different and thus should work. I do get the impression that cgminer is trying to use the files within the Windows directory instead of cgminer's. If you're aware of some other alternative to approach this problem, you know very well I would be be glad to hear it. The only reason that I absolutely must get this to work is to take advantage of Mantle since my q6600 is somewhat of a bottleneck in BF4 and I cannot afford to stop mining under any circumstance.
As always, thanks in advance for your feedback!
try the APP package rather than the drivers.
Presently I have Catalyst 13.12. Do I need this or i can stick to 13.12.
Stick to whichever driver you like the most, Im still on 13.12
Only advantage of newer drivers in the 14.x range is Mantle, which I don't think is even optimized for 7xxx series cards yet anyway
Not true, since 13.30 GPU2 usage at 99% was fixed.
And if you look at his specs you'll see he only has 1 GPU
Is it me or Hydra vision not in this driver? kinda miss it now that i started to use it >.>
it was in 14.1
Eh? I got it installed here, windows 8.1.
And most likely not a leftover since I uninstalled with DDU and did some sweeping afterwards.
13.12 turned out to be best all around driver for me.
Most stable, they work with all my BIOS-es, and no broken OpenCL like these Mantel drivers.
If you don't play BF4, stay on 13.12 and wait for hopefully proper WHQL.
But if you play Thief you might want to check 14.2
Hmm wierd i uninstalled with DDU then installed the new ones now i don't have it anymore well no real harm in uninstalling and re installing them anyway. Thanks
Just wanna point out Mantle is working great on my 7950
It was not optimized in BF4 until a Feb 13 patch, some people are still reporting issues, but it seems to be those with 1gb->2gb vram running the game on too high of detail causing the vram to be swapped, causing lag.
Just got my new rig together and haven't had any problems with this driver package. Keeper.
it's not only about vram usage... even if you stay under 2GB, there are abnormal spikes/frame drops...they have to work on it and it's a known issue since the first beta release (..."will be optimized"...)
I always do a custom install, even though I keep everything checked, except gaming evolved app.
Maybe you did auto and it found some leftover from a previous install and used the same preferences?
Well, I was at first in doubt so checked driver version, but it's the 14.2 alright, and hydravision was installed also.
You have an AMD card now?
hi to all, i have a gtx 780, do you think it's good go for a r9 290x? i mean are drivers good in this period?
I have no real experience with that card to say for sure, but some people seem to have a few issues with that particular card I believe.
But then again, there's plenty of people with driver issue claims with the 7xxx series, and I have yet to experience most of them...
But it is NOT working very well for many MANY other people with 7K series cards.
Plus an AMD guy on twitter replied to me stating that 7K Series GPU's aren't optimised for mantle under cat 14.2, and that the next beta driver in 2-4 weeks will have optimisations for 7K series.
