I'm guessing this means they started to work on the overhead more and are delaying it to hell because of that :D

is there a remote possibility drivers will be released today? i feel like an addict, checking for potential driver updates multiple times a day.

I don't get it, fair point - Crossfire users may need some new drivers. But are single cards REALLY in need of one? I can't believe everyone is having issues using the latest cards and these drivers on new games?

Every new game requires a new driver release, because if the game itself performs horribly, it's the driver's fault, and nothing else. /s

Na; I'm sure there might be some rare scenarios where single GPU users might benefit from a newer driver (given that whatever their issue was is reported and confirmed to be fixed), but most people seem to just want a new driver in-hopes it'll fix the coding mess game developers put out for game "X", or even worse; just want a new driver "just cause".

New features on the other hand are nice as well; but considering you didn't have feature "X" prior to it being announced anyway... I'm sure you can wait the bit of extra time needed to make sure that said feature is actually polished and working well.

Really hoping there's some R285 love in the new drivers - the 14.12's are pretty shabby in that respect - had to roll back to the 14.30.1005 Tonga drivers to get Evil Within to display menu text and for OpenCL OFX plugin compatibility in DaVinci Resolve - whatever AMD did with the Omega drivers, they broke a lot of stuff for R285 users...

i'm hoping for some Dying Light +performance with the new drivers.. even though it runs good after the last game patch 1.4.0

Is it unfair of us to expect at least the big studio AAA games to have proper day one driver support from both Nvidia and AMD ????

I find that to be the most ridiculous aspect of the whole argument, I'm still waiting to play FarCry 4 and Dying Light, and Atilla Total War just came out the other day as well.

I'm not ignorant, I know it's tough because some studios work with Nvidia and others with AMD. And I also know Nvidia is mostly to blame for this division and anti consumer tactics and their backroom deals big budget game studios, strong arming them into the "Meant for Nvidia" in the end consumers like us are on the losing side. (I mean unless you got two gaming PC's with both Green and Red setup)

I'm never going back to Nvidia for reasons I listed above, but it is REALLY REALLY hard being an AMD customer. And I'm trying to give them a break as much as I can because I know we're entering a busy era of new NEW gen with Win 10, DX12, new series of 4k capable cards, etc...etc...

You know what'd be better than that? Releasing them fairly frequently AND having minimal issues!

Can you confirm that older cards like 280,280x will get VSR and fps limiter? Thanks!

I can't talk about unannounced software features, sorry.

We intend to add VSR to the R9 280/280X in a future driver update.
