here it is
This article mentions the AMD 15.200 driver for DX12.
interesting article, thanks
edit: For AMD we are looking at the R9 290X (GCN 1.1), R9 285 (GCN 1.2), and R9 260X (GCN 1.1). As we mentioned earlier support for Fermi and GCN 1.0 cards will be forthcoming in future drivers.
as i see; both Maxwell and Kepler support DX12 for the moment however, only GCN 1.1/1.2 support it
two gpu generations by NVIDIA against a half generation by AMD (3 GPUs)
What a shame, AMD always last.. i think i will break mine :flame:
im willing to be GCN 1.0 will as well, since is supports Mantle.
Mantle is broken in GCN 1.0, it has been almost one year since we are waiting for this but nothing :
Mantle performance for the AMD Radeon™ HD 7000/HD 8000 Series GPUs and AMD Radeon™ R9 280X and R9 270X GPUs will be optimized for BattleField 4™ in future AMD Catalyst™ releases. These products will see limited gains in BattleField 4™ and AMD is currently investigating optimizations for them.
many, many people have it working perfectly on GCN 1.0. Others do not.
many, many people have it working perfectly on GCN 1.1. Others do not.
It works perfectly on both my 7970, and my 290.
so again, im willing to bet GCN 1.0 will support DX12.
yes it will, but not before 2016/2017 while AMD need always more and more time...
it will be 2016/2017 before there are any DX12 games, so its mostly irrelevant.
Please hurry. Your constant groaning is grating to say the least.
Indeed. This is also my experience. Absolutely zero issues with Mantle.
Also an apt comment. Some folks just don't have perspective.
first of all, you are not forced to read what i wrote. if you dont agree please abstain.
secondly, i express my self as a customer, we know all that there are two kinds of theme; those who force producer to improve its product and others who accept everything (stupid customers)
The problem is that the claims you continuously make are not entirely accurate, let alone the unfair comments you have consistently made towards AMDmatt.
I've even kindly pointed this out to you in another thread. Forgive me for being blunt this time around.
WTF? Where is that damn driver update?
I don't think there's a set date beyond the initial estimation of Q1 2015 for the phase 2 Omega drivers.
Battlefield Hardline is coming up and AMD probably wants a driver ready for that but I would guess we won't have to wait until mid-March for a new driver release.
Work is probably also pretty focused on the R9 300 series GPU's as well since it launches in a few months or when it was and they need a good launch driver too.
(And then there's DirectX 12 and Windows 10 support so at a guess the driver team is quite busy but it doesn't really answer the question of when a new public driver will be released whether beta or WHQL.)
And AMDMatt the AMD community representative for this forum (I think I got that right.) probably can't give any info either due to NDA's and all that stuff.
Where is the driver you had perfect information about its release date from an AMD employee btw?
@AMDMatt Rush them, it's not funny anymore
Really wish there was a way AMD could release crossfire profiles for games that are new releases in a more timely manner. Even if they were done apart from drivers.
Its nearly impossible for me to get my crossfire/eyefinity setup to work at its full potential without a a proper crossfire profile.
Not knowing when, or for that matter even if, the games I like to play will ever be supported discourages me from adding a third card.
Would really leik to see them independent of being released with drivers as drivers for the most part have always worked fine for me.
What happened to the project mjolnir drivers ?, i only remember the first 1 part being released.
I hope they fix them. I have a 6870OC and the screen flickers in firefox. Random focus changes in windows as well.
I followed this advise and installed 14.10.1006...
still happening, bit better...
is it because I did a sp1 repair install of windows? (0 errors in even log)
or are there good drivers for old cards?
nvm, I disabled Java in firefox to see if that is it... Java has gone so downhill, lol
seemingly, they took an extra time to be released as usual at AMD. fo r instance, Omega was ready in 11/20/2014 but released 12/09/2014
i think that project still incomplete, while AMD's abandoned HD6xxx already
In case anyone googles flicker and catalyst. This fixed it for me...
I had increased them all to 10secs, just deleted the keys and all seems good so far, I also killed Java for the time being and changed the drivers to 14.10.1006.
Problem becomes noticeable with latest drivers, must be the memory leak bug, stereo enabled application bug or something else combined with buffer overruns, noticeable by java maybe and other apps.
(I also uninstalled sptd, to make daemon tools start faster, the reason I increased the timeout in the first place, as windows was killing DT service.)
