Anyone more than me that notice some sky & loading screen flickering in Skyrim! whit this driver?
Or it is just me!..
i am currently using my laptop whit Mobility5800 series!
I installed these on my desktop (rig in the sig) last night and proceeded to spend 90 minutes trying to get Eyefinity working. Each time upon clicking the "next" button after selecting my configuration etc. it would go to blank screens (still backlit) on all 3 monitors and stay that way until I hit the restart button on my case. I have identical monitors, 2 with mini DP to HDMI Active Adaptors and one Dual link DVI cable to the third monitor. I uninstalled drivers, ran DDU in Safe Mode, etc to no avail. Reverting back to 14.9 drivers allowed me to setup Eyefinity in 3-5 seconds, first try. Checking on the AMD forums there are others with the exact same issue that I had. I ain't impressed this time around...
why are you using active adapers?
290/295 allows 3 legacy connections.
What kind of flickering?
All over the screen?
Nope, its not just you, this driver causes smoke and mist flickering and other artifacts and corruption in Skyrim on some machines. Only Skyrim too, everything else is fine. Its weird. Its hard to find a common denominator though on why its happening for some people.
It has one DVI port, all the others are Mini Display Port. My Monitors don't have a DP option so I have to use adapters.
I had to use adapters to go from the MiniDP > HDMI with my 295X2, but not active, just passive adapters work fine, maybe that's your problem
I installed those drivers and cannot see any VSR options in CCC. LCD was connected with dvi-vga from XFX 285 DD 2GB graphics card. Do I need to install the AMD latest chipset drivers which released this month?.
Very late, but thanks.
yes, but none of them need to be active as there are 3 available legacy ports.
Active adapters have their own set of issues.
I would replace them with passive adapters.
you cant use it for vga.
It works perfectly fine with the 14.9 (or earlier) drivers, so I don't think the adapters are to blame. I thought you had to have an active adapter for the third monitor, is that not the case with the 295x2? In any case, one of them came with the video card and the other one I bought off newegg. In any case I still think the drivers are to blame if it works perfectly with older drivers and more advanced tech. For now at least I'm going to just enjoy some games on it, maybe I'll try again with the next driver release or pick up some cheap passive adapters later on to test out.
thats only the case with 7xxx and earlier as there are only 2 legacy (TMDS) ports, the 3rd has to be converted actively from a DP port.
290/x, 285, and 295x2 all have 3 leagcy ports, no active adapter required for 3 monitors.
I've also had issues with eyefinity on anything later than 14.9 (14.11.1-2, 14.12). It's not a hardware issue or a cable issue -- its a driver issue.
When I try to enable eyefinity, CCC starts taking about 10% cpu, starts flashing as if its gaining and losing focus, and I can hardly click anything on it. If you try to do bezel adjustment, it flickers and moves the guides around a bunch, and all sorts of weird ****.
Ive done fresh installs, DDU installs -- the only thing that works for eyefinity is reverting to 14.9.
Yep, that sounds like what I had the other night. Maybe I didn't need to spend $25 for an active adapter, (vs half that for a passive one) but I don't believe the adapter is to blame here.
Weird... I wasn't getting any blackscreens until about 3 days ago... Now I'm getting them whenever I idle >4hrs. Display comes back by replugging DVI cable though.
EDIT: Just realised that it's been doing it since I last restarted my PC... Hmm...
If you are getting black screen you have one of 2 problems or both.
1. PSU not adequate
2. Ram speed needs to be lowered
For example I had black screens constantly now lowering my ram from 1400
to 1300 in my r9 290 I have not had any black screen for about a week.
You can already.
Go to Username\AppData\Local\ATI\ACE
CCC Global Settings = Profiles.xml
Custom Profiles are in the APL folder.
Forgot to mention this was while the computer went to sleep. It just doesn't wake up unless I replug the DVI cable.
I'm 100% sure those two aren't the issue since my PSU is definitely capable of handing a singe GPU + 8320 at a mild OC. Lowing GPU memory didn't help either.
EDIT: Lol I did mention it. Oh well.
