AMD Catalyst 14.11.1 BETA (14.301.0.0 November 5)

I upgraded from gtx560ti to amd 280x toxic and I still regret it.

- The flickering screens issues in LoL are still a problem for 7xxx users.
- The 14.9 drivers blue screens and random crashes (went back to 14.4).

I guess you are paying for decent drivers in the end.

 

fine, you and your HD6000 and HD5000 can´t be player COD: AW.... but the new R9 and R7 GPU´s can be player very well.... ehhhh.... well.... eehhh .... more or less. stupid AMD !!

If NVIDIA backing Ubisoft is one of the reasons you're considering the jump, it just shows what marketing can do. Ubisoft produces some terribly optimized games across all GPU.

I've used AMD mostly with PC gaming, the list of video cards i've used are:

Voodoo
Voodoo Banshee
Geforce 2 MX
9800 pro
8800GT
Ati 4970
AMD 6950 crossfired
and now my 7950

I have never ever had the amount of issues people like to scream about AMD, sometimes... it is sooooo bad I'm not sure if its just Nvidia Shills spreading F.U.D. (fear, uncertainty and doubt) or just zealot fanboys

In every thread about AMD / drivers there are people going on and on about how the grass is Greener with Nvidia , how they are going to switch, blah blah blah

people complain about computer issues they have, and attribute it to AMD

Ubisoft makes some of the worst PC Ports, if that makes you wanna switch to Nvidia.... you should re-consider and probably just buy a console.

 

I've been using AMD cards for few years, next one will be NVIDIA just because im bored with Red cards and want to try Green side once again, but... instead blaming AMD for releasing bad drivers why wont you blame game developers for not coding their products properly. It's stupid to blame AMD/NVIDIA for all game coders laziness/misakes.

 

I have the same card, and the driver it's not compatible, so, why it worked with yours?

I went over to another site's Catalyst 14.11.1 thread; not a single NVIDIA-related post, and all driver-discussion. Not sure if they moderate better over there, or if the community is just better-mannered.

Because game developers are prefect; especially Dice. BF4 wasn't a broken mess at launch; it was just the graphics driver being bad. Dice also implemented Mantle perfectly, and AMD obviously doesn't know how to handle their own API! /s

I think it's just part of a bandwagon. Or maybe people try to justify their game purchases; you spend $60+ on a game, you probably don't want to admit that game isn't optimized.

 

What problems in LoL? I have no issues at all.

Dude we're on 14.11.1.

280x is 100x better than 560Ti lol, just use DDU and clean reinstall your drivers.

 

I have the Sapphire Dual-x 280X and the driver cannot be installed!!
I was able to install it manually as 7900 series only.
Any thoughts?

Those cards are absolute crap to begin with.

Assassin's Creed Unity performance is absolute crap though.

I also hate to say it but I'm selling my 7990 and getting two 970s (SLI)

I'm absolutely tired of AMD's Drivers problems and hot cards.

 

About 15-25fps with single GPU (7970 Ghz)
25-45 with crossfire enabled and a crapload of stuttering and some graphical glitches (known problems of these drivers)

Visuals aren't anything special to run this bad in this game. I'm guessing it will run much better on nVidia cards. HBAO+ and MSAA are the worst performance eaters with my card.

Performance isn't great on nVidia cards either, still much better than mine.
