In some slides photographed  from an Asian website AMD is hinting towards AMD Catalyst 14.1 Beta drivers being released in Q1 2014, yet having some great new features. First off, AMD definitely is hi...

I'm all for Mantle but it don't look so good if it's a beta driver that is given a vague 'Q1' release date.

Somehow it's hard to believe that API alone will boost 40% performance on the same quality level - that's a lot.

Will Tiled Resources also be supported by Windows 7, at least to some capacity (Tier 1)?

Tiled Resources uses DirectX 11.2 I believe (Although split into two feature levels depending on hardware support.) so unless Microsoft ports DirectX 11.1 and 11.2 over to Windows 7 it's unlikely to work. :)
(Some 11.1 functionality was added with the update of Internet Explorer but I believe you still can't use 11.1 on W7 outside of that.)

Still even so it'll be a while before developers start making use of this feature, could take years or it might never be adapted.
(I guess it depends a bit on AMD and Nvidia as well, both seem to have their own means to do tiled resources.)

As long as they fix the r9 280x and 7970 texture flickering issues I'm happy.

They'll be out this month, and the rumours are, in the next few days, around Tues/Wed.

Starting to wonder if I should have just got a replacement 7870 instead of a 760

I think I can make out some of the titles they claim to get better performance of, and I've noted them down in an image which I can't post because my post count is below 10 -_-

    Regardless, the ones I can make out are 1 - Far Cry 3, 3 - Metro 2034, 5 - Sleeping Dogs, 6 - Civ 5, 8 - Sniper Elite 2, 12 - Borderlands 2, 14 - Hitman Absolution and 16 - TW: Rome 2.

Can anyone tell what the missing ones are?

You can always replace it with 270x if you choose to.

I`ll wait to see the verdict on Mantle before thinking about selling and swapping again, I've a feeling it will be lots of talk and not much action for quite a while, no point changing hardware just for 1 or 2 games

I think that particular slide is just to show performance gains in some of the games, from drivers available December 2013 as compared to the driver one year ago.

Argh, true that. I had not read the sentence above the graph... There goes my belief that I have decent observational skills.

Go look at the video from AMD's CES press conference. They actually show the gains they're getting. We're not going to see a solid 40% gain. There will be instances where the gains are lower and higher. We should be seeing gains of up to 50% with the reduced overhead and increase draw call allowance.

I'm a citizen of my great country North Korea. It's hard to believe there are good people elsewhere, and that there are other countries with good leadership and even more advanced military.

I'm sure those claims are untrue just as my leader Kim Jung un said. Long live our great leader!
