AMD Catalyst 14.1 BETA 1.6 (13.350.1005.0 January 31)

I can also confirm that the new patch and current beta driver is running smooth on my rig.
Lag/stutter totally gone. Also fixed fog bug.

 

I really want to use mantle, but 14.1 makes my older games stutter / crash.
It's about time for a reviewed driver version to be released.

 

Did you cleanly uninstall older drivers before installing 14.1?

 

how do you guys play with crossfire enabled in mantle? yesterday i enabled crossfire in mantle and I had a freeze during loading and second time I had a blinking black screen with disturbed audio (very loud) and it destroyed my catalyst installation. and this is with this latest patch.

so info, how come the less supported 7970 is playing in cf and the most supported 290 series I cant get it into crossfire?

 

With the new patch BF4 runs even better.

 

Just played Battlefield 4 with 200% resolution scale+everything ultra. Game play was so smooth! FPS was around 200(120Hz monitor)! Only complaint is that image is somehow less detailed and blurry maybe(or is it just placebo?)

Anyhow, I will be in this Mantle hype when first mantle compatible SweetFx or EFX injector comes around, I'm so adjust to injectors(sharp colorful image) that I can't play any games without it.

The Catalyst 14.1 beta is completely broken for the R9 290 series cards in crossfire. I can't even start a DirectX 11 game without a crash, let alone a mantle one.

 

Guys, again, did you cleanly uninstall previous drivers?

I love how you conclude that it's broken for the cards themselves.

Literally every single person with R9 290 series cards in crossfire has encountered these problems. EVERY ONE. Of course I reinstalled them properly with DDU and safe mode etc etc, and I tried MULTIPLE times to do so. It's simply the fact that these drivers are incompatible with this configuration, which is appalling. In addition, Vsync has been broken with r9 290 series cards in crossfire since 13.11 beta 9.2 drivers. I am not insane, simply annoyed at AMD right now.

It's obviously a crossfire problem too with XDMA, since using a single card with mantle or on the 14.1 beta drivers works perfectly fine.

 

Do you have some problems then? What is hard to believe?

 

I have no problems, what you say is just impossible.

 

Just played new round Battlefield 4. 200% resolution scale+ultra, 133min, 150-160avg, max 200. 64 players, map hainan resort. but the image is still somehow less detailled with mantle. I can't stand it, so I stick to directx 11. With DirectX 11 and resolution scale 120%+ultra I get cirka. 90fps min, 110-130fps avg, 180fps max.

Also the fact that injectors and In game OSD don't work still keep me with DX11.

That's insane performance man. Screenshots please or it didn't happen . Mantle has more fog, that's the only difference in IQ. They will patch it but I don't mind it (i enjoy the smoothness and the performance I get) and I got used to it and actually I prefer it like that .

and how do you know your FPS with it on mantle?
msiab doesn't work with mantle only dx

Cool, I'm thinking that will be around the same time scientists discover what happened before the big bang and unlock the mystery of Dark Energy/Dark Matter.

Sooo I guess while the new BF4 patch fixed the stutter the gamma/colors bug is still present?
