It's a shame. AMD just cares about their High End cards for 400$ and completely ignores older cards, APUs and laptops.

they said in release notes they support only dx 10 and 11 titles, apus and laptops, I donno, Imo I wouldnt call them real crossfire amd were thinking about when they made this driver

still, its a beta driver thats gonna be worked on and improved upon in the coming months.

Every brand pays more attetion to theyr current models, especially High End.

It´s a bad practice but unfortunably it´s widespread

The Frame Pacing ONLY supports HD 7000 models which is a audaciousness from AMD. There's no option for Frame Pacing on my AMD Dual Graphics laptop. I'm pissed off from AMD...:bang:

@SeriousStone wow, I reported it for the 13.6 Beta drivers with the same issue. As always, they just ignore the problem.

The driver's main focus is Frame Pacing... on Crossfire... for DX10-11 titles; those are likely the only people who would be getting their hype-worth experience. Your experience is unheard of, so far. I'm not saying AMD couldn't of messed up support for your particular card, but I've seen plenty of cases where it was something unrelated causing performance degrading and other issues. In other words, check other stuff on your computer before blaming the driver.

Even with the 8.1 Preview Driver and the OpenGL 4.3 Driver, AMD is fully aware of me owning Dual Graphics...

I must of paid an extra $200 for my not-so-top-end GPU somewhere along the line, thanks for your informative post :)

    Hmm.

Previously I was able to trigger facial flickering in Skyrim on 1060Mhz. Now I cant trigger it on 1080MHz...

But I did HUGE stability improvement to my system last week when i finally tuned RAM.

    What about overclocking?

Think i'll just wait til 8.1 upgrade time, and then install the latest drivers, running perfectly fine here currently, so I guess won't bother updating my APU based system, Radeon 6530D, and AMD A6-3620 Quad Core

Ah, how is AMD fully aware? There no Frame Pacing and no switchable graphics menu. It's a mess.

200$ is a lot of money for a GPU too, you know.

Wow, encouraging! Question -- what was Skyrim like before this driver?

And also -- What GPU are you using, and is it using single or dual?

Brilliant! What were you using before this one? What was your experience like (like with Farcry 3)?

Aghh... Starcraft 2 was the game I was most hopeful for with this driver :/

How is the performance worse now in SC2? Where are you seeing diminished performance, and by how much?

    What card(s) are you running?

Uh, I don't think the frame-pacing thing is something you can turn on and off manually via CCC.
It's inherent in the driver itself, just like what nVidia had done long before AMD.

Also, it's been stated more often than not that frame-pacing mainly affects CFX setup, not switchable graphics nor single GPUs.

Getting Ye Olde "100% GPU Firefox 4 Hardware Acceleration" bug here.
I have to enable direct2d rendering in about:config, or else GPU2 jumps to 99% when running firefox (or seamonkey).
    Radeon 7970+7950 Crossfire.

edit:Seems to be fixed with a complete driver wipe and windows folder AMD/ATI exorcism in safe mode.

Actually, that's exactly how it is.

There is SO MUCH noobishness in this thread it is impossible to start somewhere.

I have installed and ran these drivers flawlessly.

I finally get a smooth expierence even when my framerate drops below 60. Playing metro last light on 2560x1440 all settings high and no headache after two hours gaming
