Believe it or not, the fact that TB stops the 60/30 fps toggle with vsync is a beneficial side effect.

Its original purpose was to reduce input lag from outdated frames by always having a newer frame available when vbi requests the next frame.

Ah, guess I wasn't clear. I meant GPU usage should be maxed even when your FPS is at your refresh rate. This means that the GPU is still rendering as fast as it can, which is what real Triple Buffering allows it to do, with VSync on.

13.8 beta feels very unoptimized. Severe performance decrease when a flash video is playing, stuttering mouse pointer, ect.

Returned to 13.6 beta2, and everything is fine again

I dunno about all these video flashes etc when people are using flash, but I disable all hardware browser use just because I've not seen a single videocard handle it properly unless you are using Chrome

And I've had zero stuttering mouse cursor etc, but I am using a SSD for my OS drive, some people are saying its hard drive stutter causing it.

Also again, for some reason watching movies with these drivers is insanely good quality, I dunno what this driver did but christ my videos are clean now

No real issues with this driver yet. Also, I enabled hardware acceleration in FF and all seems fine for now. No stuttery mouse pointer either. Could it be related to Windows 7 or earlier, as I have Win8?

Well now i am happy with these drivers. Even after clean install of Windows 8 and this driver and just bf3. BF3 kept on crashing. Well dont know if it was the reason but installed the newest firefox and now BF3 launches and i can play it and hell yes smoooth it is.

Glad you were able to make it work :)
I use Chrome as a browser as i had issues with latest firefox versions when playing BF3 (I think it was related to hardware acceleration in the browser)

Moved to Win8 here, and the uninstall utility AFAIK doesn't work for Windows 8, so how do I properly clean out my drivers in 8?

I have Windows 8 and I use the Catalyst Uninstall Utility. It works fine. If you want, you can use Driver Sweeper.

Im not sure if ATIman works under win8.

You can try Wagnard's new utility as well

Actually chrome has Hardware acceleration too. Thing is I never had issues with it and I did with Firefox.

I have zero problems with my 5850. Just saying. Not like I expected any, but you never know.

I had this problem over a year ago with my monitor going to sleep.. I just don't let the monitor sleep anymore I manually turn it off. I just tried to run alan wake and I get triangles bouncing off everything, sadly these drivers are still pretty buggy.

edit: I also add that while running Alan wake with these drivers I had them crash and reset the display four times.

Sadly, triangles bouncing everywhere (unless reproduces by every other user) are bad OC, => High GPU/Mem temperature or insufficient voltage/current for OC.

I'll test Alan Wake and it's Datadisc once I get home today.
