Hmmm, Maybe they have started to add some memory manager modifications.

A 20% performance boost for Shogun 2 @ 8xMSAA (I found a 10% increase in S2+8xAA) surely never was a direct goal due to the age and popularity of the game. Also, a German site found an up to 17% increase in Skyrim, for the 4xSSAA mode.

Both examples put a lot of strain on the VRAM management.

    This could be related also:

Cheers Mac, the final line explains it perfectly

    SUMMARIZING

The AMD Catalyst™ 13.4 WHQL driver is the certified version of 13.3 Beta, while the AMD Catalyst™ 13.5 Beta driver extends the code in both of these drivers with additional fixes/enhancements. And, more importantly, both drivers are available immediately for Microsoft Windows®-based PCs!

I just tried out Cat13.5 B2 driver on my main rig in my profile, I dunno about the 13.4WHQL driver, but with 13.3, I can only manage a mix of mostly Medium and High to be able to play Crysis 3 and still see only ~25fps and above. With the 13.5 B2, man, what a difference! At the same setting, I'm seeing >70fps, I've upped ingame setting to High and still seeing about 50+fps and there's no jerkiness, stutter so far, Will try Very High and see what happens, but no MSAA though, not worth the framerate hit.

Nope, don't normally use vsync, and I forgot to mention that I was gaming @5760x1200.

    Random frame drops where?

I'll try em out and see what happens. Otherwise, your DCUII 7950.. how is it? Not lots of users have this card, I'd certainly want to test it out if I could. Any max OCs you've gotten with it? Care to share some numbers? :D

And nice to hear mikey about those framerate increases.

This driver rocks for Crysis 3! I just upped ingame setting for it to Very High + FXAA + Motion Blur at Medium.......I'm seeing >40fps @5760x1200. AWESOME! Just awesome! Relatively smooth with mild stutter here and there, very mild ones.....nothing that would make me stop the game.

I don't have it fully overclocked, just the default BIOS updates from ASUS. 925/1250. mV set at default value of 1031.

It's a powerful card, never had any problems with it, unless I start trying to overclock it by big values. So I've left it as it was intended.

The frame rates were like big spikes that would drop by 20 seconds or so, and a micro stutter would happen. Nothing like this with officials.

I think this issue is about AERO.

IIRC first time I saw this was when AMD changed to net framework 4.x. So theres probably small bug somewhere in their CCC net4.x code.

resizing window/clicking other options fixes it.

Ghosty, why not OC it though? Would be interesting to see what it could do.

Don't really see the point, as there isn't anything that would stress it to the max, apart from benchmarks.

    Damn straight! :D

I will be installing this driver on my 3rd rig and see if it improves performance since Crysis 3 ran like crap on it with Cat13.3. That rig has a HD6990 and a HD6970 in TriFire, let's see if this driver helps the HD6xxx series as well.

Mom.exe will not run for me with this driver.

Will have to remove and try again.

Hi, can anyone assist me? I've recently installed the new 13.5 BETA 2 drivers and during the installation i just get a plain black screen (longer than what it should have been). My GPU is the AMD RADEON HD 7640G. I did after about half an hour shut off my notebook and it appears to be fine. However, when it goes into stand by and turns of the screen, it doesn't turn back onn after touching the mouse.

I've not seen any performance increases so I don't know whether the driver has installed correctly or not. I might just try 13.4 and if that doesn't work I'll go back to 13.3 Beta.

I have installed drivers before and have never had such a long blank screen process so I assume there's something wrong. But then again, it IS a beta. Just curious as to why nobody else has reported it.

    Cheers

    Quick tests:

    Skyrim:
    Black flickerspot - clear
    White flickerspot - clear
Transparent skin flickering - still present

    Starcraft 2:
    "Newkirk" bug - still reproducable

    edit"

    Witcher 2:
Overall input lag and stutterings even with Ubersampling enabled improved a lot. FPS did not changed ...
