They should be included in the install, you cant see them it just installs on its own.

Its been like this since 13.1 drivers I think.

    13.2, i believe 13.1 had a separate cap...

I was under the impression the betas would have internal caps, and whqls would have separate caps due to the length of time required for certification.

This appears to not be the case.

Unless the cap comes out when AMD posts the officials...

    cap=Catalyst Aplication Profile.

they are driver level game performance tweaks.

They are in a database that you dont see but executed when a game (or application) is detected running.

They used to be in two pieces, part in the driver itself, and a separate installable extended database.

Lateley, they've been stuffing them all into the driver.

if you are curious what actually in the blb (database library) files, check this out:

Just FYI, my 3rd rig has a HD6990 + HD6970, and driver install was a cinch. CCC works as well....

I've got a 7850 running Cat 12.8. What do you recommend for installing 13.4, just install over it or run AMD uninstall utility?

    nope. :(

The only thing that really bothers me about it is that it causes my primary card to idle 12C higher than my secondary card. Kinda lame; and, I believe, totally unnecessary.

Yes, the 144Hz bug is related to Zero Core Tech; but I'm not sure what you're saying or asking...?

The bug occurs when the primary (or single) card only drops to 501/1500, rather than 300/150, when idling and set to 144 Hz. The same card will drop to the proper 300/150 if it's configured for 120 Hz instead. The increased clocks -- especially the memory that is higher by a factor of 10 -- should not be necessary for that simple 24 Hz jump.

Note: this same situation occurs (understandably) when using multiple monitors; so, the cards are basically acting as if having a single monitor @ 144 Hz is equivalent to having multiple monitors.

    make sense?

EDIT: Will these 13.4 drivers be the only news today, or can we also expect a 13.5 Beta?

Genius! Many thanks as I just tried that with the newest betas, the 13.5b2's and it fixed my HDMI audio.

I'm going to try this now with the official 13.4's.

Btw, the 13.3 beta 3's hve working HDMI audio for me, the first drivers in a long time to do so.

Sadly, my Netflix app under Windows 8 is broken with all recent drivers. Only works with the 13.1 WHQL's.

P.S. In regedit I looked for PP_SclkDeepSleepDisable and set it to 1. Doing so affected a lot of other entries but not all. I set it one more time and that took care of all the rest.

Lol, I should have payed closer attention but I was jammed up.

These ones curiously enough cause "AMD Display Driver has stopped"-errors with same settings I've used for a year. No idea why. Will clean my systen from Drivers and MSI Afterburner and start from scratch with 13.5b2 and see what happens.
