Hmm, so this happens on Beta 7 as well, still only with GW2 from what I've seen. The graphics driver will either crash and restart on its own (and lock my clock speed at 150Mhz until reboot), or just BSoD the system. This happens when I use Evolve.

If I try recording with MSI Afterburner, recording seems fine. I believe it records with the framebuffer.

Edit: The graphics driver restart and/or BSoD also happens with Dxtory. If at all possible, I'd be very interested to hear other people's results when using either Evolve or Dxtory to record video in either Skyrim, Borderlands 2, or Guild Wars 2 with these (or any 13.2 beta) driver.

I use Dxtory to record Skyrim and Borderlands 2

    I've had zero issues

Dxtory also records directly from the videocards frame buffer

And suddenly, the HDMI audio disappeared from my system, lol
Was working fine before since ever, but now it don't even show up in audio options. Was working even with this same beta.

Driver or windows fault, since works fine on Linux.
I will try to repair\reinstall the driver.

EDIT: I reinstalled the audio driver only and is working fine now.

The first scenario when you have exactly 60 FPS is optimal.

In case that computer is not able to generate 60 fps the framerate should not be capped at 30. If this happens it means that engine you are running is unoptimized.

If the engine and hardware is able to generate aproximately 45 FPS, then the game is generating 60FPS in one moment, and 30 in other moment, while effective and visible FPS is on 45. However, this is how can you simulate stuttering.

This and similar effects can be negated by Triple buffering. it becomes much more effective in such scenarios because third buffer can help to keep FPS stable. Third buffer allows to utilize more of GPU potential so its more probable that system remain switched on the "higher gear".

Well, I thought that as well, so I overclocked CPU to 4.5 GHz, but that didn't change much (+3 FPS gain and the same GPU load).

    I think hes confused.

He most likely means with tripple buffering activated, as it continues to render the back buffers even while the the front buffer is waiting for VBI.

Yes, that's it. I always thinking about Vsync with triple buffering.

    common misunderstanding.

TB is a separate process, and needs to be activated independent of vsync. I question the usefulness of vsync without it, but who knows what the game designers decided.

Try Radeon Pro, it has an OSD so you can see whats activated and whats not.

Using the Beta 7 I got a good performance in TR, but it ocassionally froze my entire system so I decided to roll back to 12.11 Beta 11. No crashes anymore, but I noticed those "60-20 FPS" falls you mentioned before.
I think I should download the 13.1 WHQL just to get rid of the 12.11 betas, but i'm too lazy to do it.

Does anyone knows if the poor performance is related to the game or the drivers?

    BTW, i'm using a CFX of 6950s.

SO, today I turned on my PC and the Audio has vanished AGAIN.
Then, I reinstalled the audio driver and is working fine, AGAIN.

What the heck is going on here? lol

latest drivers and hdmi drivers have always had issues i think every reboot i have i loose hdmi *yellow exclimation* in device manager all the time and its always 1 cards audio that messes up, i have to keep disabling it and re enabling it to fix it though every reboot is the same, its been this way for erm since launch lol

think its a hardware issue or underlining issue that they cant quite fix.
i actually get the feeling that they rushed out the 7 series without thinking about the issues that might not fix with software.

i have the same issue with the DX_GI_ERROR crashes, currently on 13,2 - 7, but the same issues with older drivers. currently running on my midrange sys, 830ssd 256mb, HD6870, 12 gigs of ram with phenom 2 x4 955 proc. i know my proc is crap for a game like crysis3, but in this case i think the game is crappy optimized. didnt try a driver sweep thought, i try to disable the ati control panel now, lets see if if that helps (dont think so lol
