I had to downgrade to 8. I noticed what seems to be the issue, at least for me, is that no games obey v-sync settings, even using overrides/radeonpro etc and it refuses to work. The tearing occurred relentless regardless of any settings until I downgraded the driver. Did it in both win7 and 8.1. Going to beta 8 fixed it on both.

I have no problems in windows 7 with vsync.

Must be something odd about your setup.

No problems here with the games I tried on 8.1 either.

What would involve 'odd'? I have a crossfire setup. I duplicated it repeatedly. Clean out all drivers, soon as I put in 9.2, vsync never works. Do the same thing and put in any other recent driver, vsync works fine. It's obvious to test, you can just look at the frame rate and see it going above 60fps constantly.

how are you cleaning out between drivers?

    smells to me like leftovers...

I actually fell for the same thing as you when I first read the changelog, but it clearly states that it's for 4K and SLI.

DDU, the one hosted here on these forums. Also in the 8.1 install 9.2 was the first amd install of any videodriver at all. It was literally rebuilt the day that driver came out.

the last whql drivers are better for assassins creed 4, not much framerate difference but screen tearing is barely noticeable with vsync off and with vsync on there is no more jitter. Im guessing the insane amount of tearing these new drivers have with the game cause jitter when vsync is trying to correct it.

    Hey guys !

Is there any way to know what is the default "temperature target" on my GPU ?
The Fans of my 7970Ghz 3XWindforce are getting seriously high very fast so i was wondering if i could modify the temp target, however i dont know the default temperature the fans have to stay close of so i'm looking for some kind of ... stuff or program to get the info ?

    Can anyone help please ?

Edit : Found OC guru that display the default.
It seems my gfx is mainly trying to stay under 60-65C max, beyond that line, the fans become crazyyy :eek3: (settings display 70-80percent fan speed for above :3eyes:)
Do you think i can safely modify the value to reach a value closer to 70-75 C ?

There is no target temp, like the 290s

but generally, you want your temps on a 7970 under 85.

you can create a custom fan curve with AB, Trixx, etc if you think its running too hot.
