I have FRAPS and MSI Afterburner, but neither are set up for overlay information. Also read that topic, but even without the software it still happens. And as I said, I don't use the overlay options in the software anyway.

    CCC error solution

you have to install all the Packages\Apps\CCC2 Net4 packages from this driver http://www.station-drivers.com/page/ati catalyst.htm (except the Utility-Net4) if you are on Win8 x64 to make CCC work, after you installed asder00 modded driver.

Is anyone able to use AB with these?? the minute I apply a profile it causes screen tearing when switching between tabs in chrome. I am able to apply OC in CCC with no issues, just when going through AB it gets all screwy. I have a msi 6950 with shaders unlocked and its been running @865/1380 since 12.6. These are the first drivers to cause these issues.

For some strange reason this stopped working properly on Win8 64bit.

If I start it doesn't load the graphics drivers. I have to restart with driver signing disabled and then it works. After turning off the computer, next time same problem again...

    I'll try a re-install.

Running installation in the mode that allows unsigned drivers to be installed.

Just installed ok and then at the end it pops up the Program Compatibility Assistant.
A digitally signed driver is required.
Windows blocked the installation bla bla bla.

    Event viewer shows:
    For the below two files
Edit, again, works fine when I start with the driver signing disabled option, but when starting normally it fails.

    And a little extra:
Guess, I'm back to another driver.

Any comment on why it thinks my 5870m is a firepro M7820 yet??? I think that caused my bsod. Would love to use these drivers since everyone says they are good.

I just installed the driver and I also get the CCC error. I have a Radeon 5870 running Windows 7, 64 bit. Can I just drop some files from another release somewhere or do I have to download the alternate version and use it?

Has anyone tested these out on a HTPC? I am curious as to any improvements on that front.

EDIT: It took me five tries, but it is finally downloading.

Uninstall ALL AMD graphics drivers via Catalyst Install Manager.

Reboot and run ccleaner to clean left over files and reg clean.

Then install these drivers, select custom install and make sure everything is ticked EXCEPT CCC. Once installed download 12.8 WHQL and install CCC from that.

    This worked for me.

I have now "fixed" this by running in test mode and signing the driver with a test certificate.

Used this tool to create the test certificates on the two problem files.

And I used "My WCP Watermark Editor" to get rid of the "Test mode" watermark.

I still find it strange this is broken though, as I don't see any updates installed that would have caused this :(

Hey everyone! Made an account just for this thread lol.

I did all this except I didn't untick CCC. My CCC works and it looks just like asder's, saying its catalyst version 12.8. I'm hoping it installed properly?

Also, I used a Catalyst Application Profile, which I uninstalled prior to installing this driver, should I reinstall it or would it overwrite the changes in place in this driver? Thx ahead of time!

Just had a grey/blue stripey screen (Gsod?) after a round of BF3 conquest large with these drivers. ):

No CCC with the ... hang on ... v3 package. :D
(I arrived here after the fixing attempts and I previously uninstalled 12.8 WHQL.)
