Any video should do just fine, unless it's 10-bit h.264; DXVA isn't a format.
To test it, just install MPC-HC and play a video.
If there's a [DXVA] text on its status bar while playing a video, then you have DXVA enabled on that playback.

these driver's are awesome , but i've never had any serious problems with any driver (hd 7970 crossfire included) it's really too bad you guys with 7970's are having issues (cause for me this is the best performing driver yet for my 7970's) , really seams strange to me :eek3:

beta`s to AMD Official WHQL in one day, hardly seems worth releasing the beta considering theyre the same file but thanks anyway,so now its safe to say these work fine,tdu2 works better but arma2 still has anisrotophic filtering issues,3dmark11 is no different to 12.6 whql albeit for for a tiny bit of micro stutter which i never had with my previous 4890cf setup

The guy who said it's weird you still have Flash problems in 2012 is right. I don't have an ATI card, but hear me out.

Both this forum and the nVidia forum reports hundreds of bugs, every time a new driver is out. Out of those 1000+ bugs that have gathered untill now, I had at most 3 of those "reported bugs".

I almost never had a problem with flash. Using Windows 7 or 8, both stable. (I recommand IE10 for Youtube though, incredibly solid flash performance).

Using at the moment Opera 12.50 x64, with Flash 11.3 x64, and it crashes maybe once or twice a month. Not something too serious.

I don't know about you guys, but I hate using Firefox stable. It just feels...slow. Enabling HWA actually slows the whole thing down, unless you set your GPU to be in P0 when using HWA in the browser. On the other hand, Nightly x64 is a beast. I can never say I had more problems with Flash in Firefox than other browsers to be honest. (1-2 crashes a month, at worst, as I said)

Flash still doesn't support 4k resolutions though, and that's annoying on any browser.

Surprise surprise, it looks like the 100% fan + bluescreen is alive and well with these drivers, at least while overclocking, same as the 12.7 beta. It didn't happen for a while but finally did just now while playing Skyrim. Turning the speed back down to stock until the next set of drivers... /sigh...

Yes same thing here. But you can still go in to stranded view and change those settings.

Anyone else having random Firefox 14.0.1 crashes with these drivers?

Everything is solid for me. Glad I never bought the 7xxx cards.
These will be my new daily drivers. No issues, no noticable proformance gains. Seems the same as 12.6 and 12.7 drivers.

Yeah, I'm gonna be "that guy"... anyone tried these with 2+ GPUs on a 5xxx series card? From a fair bit of testing, it looks like the drivers peaked with the Feb 14 8.96 drivers, with each of the ones since producing noticeably worse ever since. I may try these out, but if anyone's given them a shot with a similar config to mine, I'd love to hear how they perform.

Edit: What's this and how do I enable it?

I'm gonna try these ones on my 5650 mobile this evening, hoping they won't go crash and BSOD and some other bad stuff!

By the time I've tried the 18 April 12.4, I've never changed them. I've been experiencing BSODs with the 12.6 every time I used to ibernate (and that caused a total Win crash and I'd to reinstall Win). Moreover, with 12.7 I experienced flash issues (as they were beta, I think so, at least I hope).

Hoping well for this evening, otherwise I'll have to roll back to my loved 12.4!

12.6 WHQL were perfect for my 7950 IceQ Turbo in CFX by now. I'll try 12.8 tonight and give some reply here. I'm curious if any improvements for Darksiders 2 :nerd:.

Seems fine so far on my 7970. Tried a few games, no crashes or corruption as yet.

I'm surprised AMD hasn't mentioned any performance increases at all in the release notes, since they talked about them a lot in the 12.7 beta!

Anyone know where I can get more info on the HDMI sound issue? I've seen people talking about it, no one has offered an explanation why it happens.

Basically, system sounds have not worked for me via HDMI sound since after the 12.4 drivers. On the 12.6 drivers, I could put a youtube video in the background and I would get sound. The drivers after that would play sound for a few seconds and then it gets cut off.

In games, as long as it's actual gameplay or menus it's fine. If it's an FMV, there's no sound.

Have you guys installed windows 7 sp1?

    Notes.

When installing the AMD Catalyst driver for Windows operating system, the user must be logged on as Administrator or have Administrator rights to complete the installation of the AMD Catalyst driver.
The Catalyst driver requires Windows 7 Service Pack 1 to be installed.
These release notes provide information on the AMD display driver only. For information on the ATI Multimedia Center™, HydraVision, HydraVision Basic Edition, Remote Wonder™, or the Southbridge/IXP driver, please refer to their respective release notes found at: http://support.amd.com/.
AMD Eyefinity technology is designed to give gamers access to high display resolutions. As pixel count grows, the graphics “horsepower” required to drive the displays at a reasonable frame rate can increase dramatically. Depending on the game and system configuration, users may notice texture corruption and reduced frame rates when running games in multi-monitor Eyefinity modes.
Windows Driver Model (WDM) drivers are no longer bundled in the AMD Catalyst software suite. The WDM drivers install bundle can be downloaded independently through the AMD website.
