It has to do with clocks being sticked at 3D clocks too.
Try it and you will see. Its solved my idle clock problems.

We all want to be positive here. We spent many dollars buying these red babies to have some stupid coders rendering them useless. Don't we?
I had the green flash playback problems.
has the 3d/2d clock @ 2nd gpu problem.
had 1 crash with CCC but it was because of soemthing else...
had slow startup because of CCC (disabled it totally after configuring and use afterburner for clocks and fan speed.
    had no problems with avivo.
had no rpobelms with video playback in any software includion WMP.

had many issues regarding choppiness, texture and shadow problems in games (specially skyrim), no problems regarding micro stuttering.

Has nothing to do with correct clocks, it effects people using aftermarket software to control their cards.

my 2nd card still gets stuck in 3d clocks after exiting game with these drivers, if i launch gpu-z, it fixes it.

I am having an issue that my second card is stuck at idle clock speeds. I am going to try going back to the 12.2 drivers to see if that fixes it. I never thought to check the 12.3 drivers to see if they had the issue.

I installed the 12.2 drivers and the card is scaling correctly when running games. It will then go back to low idle speed when the game isn't running.

12.4 are a bust for me, rolling back to 12.3. They don't work with Virtu. Shame cos 12.4 was supposed to fix some issues with Skyrim :-(

With 12.4 BF3 seems to have a framerate increase for my 7970, because now I'm maintaining an easy 60 FPS on ultra on maps like Oman or Caspian.

Weirdly when I first started the game I got some sort of flickering in game on the textures, but I just simply switched the graphic settings back and forth and haven't seen the flickering issue since.

Skyrim's issues are now all fixed, running everything at ultra without the texture mess.

My 3Dmarks went up a few hundred, not much difference.

    Solid driver!

I think the 79xx series had a rather serious problem... I'm maintaining too much better the cap I've set on settings which were giving me many performance hits. Also, when I was going below 50FPS, the game was 'heavy', sluggish and in general unplayable. Now even on 35FPS ( with SSAA ) the game is running smoother.

We might not have gotten serious FPS increase, but certainly smoother experience. I'm really satisfied. And the image-quality is noticeable better.

Let's hope for even better results in the upcoming versions.

    explain the problem to amd
    http://www.amdsurveys.com/se.ashx?s=5A1E27D27E29B0E3

running the 6650m alone, i also notice lag everywhere, even in 2d mode on desktop

My dgpu was also stuck at idle clocks until I forced it to speed up by watching youtube videos, which triggers hardware acceleration.

report the bug to amd. http://www.amdsurveys.com/se.ashx?s=5A1E27D27E29B0E3
they really screwed up 12.4 pretty badly, especially with crossfire systems.

same with mine. first it's stuck in idle speed, and after forcing 3d clock, it gets stuck in 3d clocks.

You guys running 6600 Laptop chips, no offense, but you can't really expect much from those chips running BF3.

Don't always point the finger at AMD. I got tired of seeing that on the Nvidia side of things too. You'd have people with lower end hardware upset because they can't pull 100 FPS at high.

One thing about this driver, as well as the newly leaked driver. Skyrim with heavy texture mods crashes. If I use just the high res pack from bethesda, it works fine.

Yeah it ****ing sucks. I removed one card from my system and I'm going normal xfire. However it's simply not enough for BF3 5760x1200. Last night when I was running trifire it was a dream boat of a game, I even managed top of the team. I cannot wait till they release a fix to make this game playable for me again.

that dll file doesn't do jack for clock speed.

i had that dll left over in the syswow folder after installing 12.4 over 12.1, and gpu still stuck at idle 2d clocks.

Solid drivers for me. I cant compare them to older ones since this is a new setup.

Either way my last trifire had no problems, but I must say that I dont play skyrim.

Ok new guy on these forums so go easy on me :)

These have been first drivers for me which give 0x0116 BSOD the instant I launch game on my 7970 CF setup. This doesn't happen when CF is disabled

What I have tried to fix this quite critical issue:
Uninstall drivers and run driver sweeper and reinstall them.
    Use different cap eq: 12.2cap1
Run everything at stock clocks and remove Afterburner etc.
Change Windows 7 TDR delay value

I reported the issue to Catalyst driver team (unlikely though that they listen...) so if anyone has some trick up on their sleeve and willing to share it, I would be very pleased... even more if the trick actually works.
