No, not OC'd. I put everything back to default settings. Still the same issue. As soon as i got back to 12.2, it's fine. Weird...

lol, on a serious note it is evident that AMD really need to sort there software out and quick before its the death of them, it seems they use all their resources to produce new cards all the time, all they seem to do is bang out new cards all the time and don't pay enough attention on supporting the cards that people may have purchased 1 or 2 or more years ago, maybe they need to employ more people, maybe set up dedicated driver team of 40-100programmers working around the clock because quite frankly in the last six months they just haven't cut the mustard.

    LOL
Yeah, Read all the threads where everyone seems to get different results and issues with the SAME drivers.

AMD cannot even provide a proper un-installer to ensure a clean install of new drivers, its just ridiculous!
Nobody should have to rely on 3rd party software to ensure a clean / proper un-install/install of drivers!

Once my two 6950's are no longer able to keep up gaming , i'm going back to green.

Yes it is but I was talking about the new drivers I got via Windows Update, not from AMD. The driver itself got updated but the Vision Control Center stayed at the same version. They worked fine though but stopped coming after the 3rd one and I started falling behind. The laptop came with the 11-6 drivers pre-installed and the WU ones were first the 11-6 hotfixed for APU's and then 11-7 and 11-8. There haven't been any after that. The Mobility WHQL's from Asder have worked perfectly starting with 11-10 up to the latest 12-3

    EDITED: Catalyst 12.1 no flickering
    Catalyst 12.2 no flickering
    Catalyst 12.3 flickering

    Sh*t driver.

And uninstall the AB software crap. I am running 8.96 (did have 9.95.5 and no prob) have not installed this one since it is older, have you tried 8.96 .... same prob? I am 157 300 nil nil and 900 1200 900 1200 at 3d and 400 1200 nil nil with extend second monitor. It is werid the funny results that some get when others do not. Even when i alt tab she idles dwn. The card is working perfect in xfire since 8.95.5 before that it was 11.10 only which would not remember my 2nd monitor was 1080p when disabled, you need to disable the second one to run any game in xfire. Dual monitors and amd is not a subject i need to get into again :bang:

Huh? So turning AB off is not enough and i have to uninstall it? Herp-derp... I wonder which software is more fail in this case. :D Anyhow, didn't see any noticable performance or quality or CFX improvement with the 12.3 WHQL so i'd rather stick with AB and drivers that actually work as they're supposed to... more or less. :D AB was working fine, AMD got new drivers, they changed stuff, not AB, so kinda they screw up, not AB...

I bought my first 5850 literally the day it was out. This card is so much win, that last year i bought 2nd one. Needless to say that a 2 and a half years old card still delivers outstanding performance, especially in CFX (where it works properly that is). I think i've been more than patient with AMD, don't you think? :) It's just that it gets kinda boring to always look for a work around, not that it's hard, i've always found one, but it gets annoying and boring after so much time. Apparently AMD can't find the work around.

    @Shayne
If I would've gotten 10€/hour I spent on trying to fix my skyrim flickering issue alone, I could buy myself a new PC ~1500€, just saying
Tried every possible fix, ini tweak, fresh install, os fresh install, countless (alpha)(beta)(crappy whql) drivers and redownloaded the game multiple times in order to not have 1 file messed up. So really, there is NO other way for some cfx users as to use the 11.10 driver that renders every other new game unplayable.
I'm sure SLI has many issues too, but at least not with the really important releases like BF3 and Skyrim (My BF3 performance is not too bad now, after messing around with user.cfg's and multiple drivers, as you said, no joy without effort. The effort is just useless if you keep trying but can't solve the issue, thats why I'm ranting like a b!tch).

I have had an issue with driver sweeper that caused me to uninstall it. It actually deleted files in the winsxs folder preventing me from updating Windows 7 to SP1 and the updates past it. I had to manually add the deleted files using my windows disc in order to fix that problem. It was pain in the ass to say the least. I'm sure my case is a rare exception.

And AMD fanboys wonder why nVidia fanboys still use the "amd drivers are garbage" line..... For the exact reason you just stated.

Now, excuse me while I butcher my poor case to make my HD7870 fit....

Newer than 2.30.1900... Are you sure?

I belive, it is Asus Radeon 7870 and Catalyst 12.3 WHQL combination what causes my computer to crash when Aida64 is started. And it is same problem with older version of Aida64.

    Feedback to Catalyst Crew given.

7850 with 12.3 WHQL fine for me with 2.30.1900 (and 2.20.1800).
8.95.5 with above also no issues.

For the love of God(s), PLEASE DO.
I just came in here to check out what people were saying about the newest drivers and it's all the same ol' same ol' that made me quit coming in here in the first place.
Some people never learn, and the ones that do quit bitching because they realize that it's the same thing on the green side...

Good luck Bro. This place is a MESS. (I knew the soul that was granted Don'ship to the AMD forums was going to have to be a hardened individual!)

I don't typically use HDMI, nor install the HDMI audio driver but, my card has at least a defective DVI port. I'll be picking up a DVI->HDMI adapter cable tomorrow to test the HDMI port. If I can get my 7870 working that way, I'll give the HDMI audio drivers a shot.

You can download the HDMI audio driver directly from Realtek here: http://www.realtek.com/downloads/do...=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false
It's labeled "ATI HDMI Audio Device"

You might want to look at the driver threads in the nV section. They aren't doing any better....
