Mine did that for awhile until I uninstalled the codec/converter crap, specifically with HTML5 videos for some reason...

Are they basing the official 12.1 drivers off of these? Any word when the official drivers will drop?

I have sold my second 6870 and have not regretted it yet, gonna buy a more powerful single card soon. I am thinking either the 7970, or waiting to see what nvidia is gonna have.

Yeah... I'll probably do the same ! but not yet, first I'm gonna change my motorcycle for something with more grunt... my little commuter has done what it was worth for... so I'll hold a couple of months with my 6850 until we get some better prices and availiability on the 7970

New mods, new ways to keep things tidy.
Threads pointing to latest drivers (official/unofficial) will get sticky-ed (stuck?).

    Just that.

Good to know that worked out fine for you, but unfortunately I only installed the drivers, APP SDK, and CCC; none of those converter AVIVO sh!t.

Stuttering in apb reloaded, takes forever to come back to my desktop after playing games, these drivers are buggy. Going back to the 12.1 preview.

Surprised here. BF3 at 1080p high with 4xMSAA works smoothly now. No more stuttering due to a lack of vram. I got 6870 in CFX with only 1GB.

I also have the latest cap.

Online? well that's not weird at all.... I could play on high at 1080p with 1 6850 wich is a bit slower than yours, before these drivers xD

I want at least 50+ fps when I play. Scaling was fine with the other drivers but deferred AA was causing a huge performance drop. Now, the game seems smoother overall and I can crank up AA to 4x without massive stuttering.

Some people define playing well as 30fps. In my book that is a slideshow, especially if you see some 60fps in some smaller areas. The drop to 30 is then very noticeable and annoying.

I need to play some more to confirm. To me now, the only problem is the CPU bottleneck on 64 man servers.

I hate AA too much performance drop and also makes images blurier instead of smoother, I rather use FXAA or the "post process" option that some games have wich is similar in essence.
I agree with you, I had about 40 fps with old drivers and before I switched to i5 2500k @4.5Ghz (i was using an athlon II 640 @3.35Ghz)... now it should improve but I haven't played with the new drivers nor CPU as I have been away from home for some time on vacations...
Later on I'll try and tell you ^^

Bf3 still has problems with smoke & fire together making the game take a massive dive in fps (ie 60+ to 30fps) when zooming through them in a vehicle or sniper scope etc. This is with just in game fxaa active and pretty sure its probably purely a crossfire issue from past experiences.

Same here, i'm using an O/C 6990 @ 930mhz and still getting slow down to 50 fps in certain places, with or without def AA. Most of the time though it runs 60fps, but the drops are obvious, even only down to maybe 50fps, it looks alot worse to me.
    maybe 12.2 might cure it.....

surley cf on 6950 and above should have no probs running any game max, or am i wrong????
