Its deffo an odd one, still, it doesn't really bother me, as i know the officials will be fine.
6850 with idle clocks 300/300 here.
So is this driver better in game performance then earlier AMD Catalyst 11.8 Preview Driver (8.88.3 July 11) ?
BEST DRIVER EVER meanwhile!
I can confirm the OpenGL is working correctly.
Finally, I can have my Autodesk Maya works better.
So will the 11.8 official driver next week be older or newer than this one?
I guess the officials will be older like last time or even a different development branch maybe.
Wasn't 11.7 WHQL practically a rebadged 11.7 Preview?
And also the case with 11.6 WHQL before it?
gpu 1 - 100/150
gpu 2 - 300/300
all good here well done amd .............
working decent here, using with 11.7 cap2s
6870 card1 300/300 idle temps 45c
6870 card2 300/300 idle temps 42c
Not much of an issue but OpenGL version is still reported as 4.1 in various tools. I suppose they support 4.2 but isn't actually certified as 4.2 (or something like that).
EDIT: Ah, they're not really telling the truth according to OpenGL Extension Viewer:
Full Support isn't the same as 50% support. :/
Or the install of the 11.8p2 wasn't complete. I'll uninstall, Sweep and reinstall.
EDIT 2: Nope, still same thing, 4.2 is only 50% implemented.
good drivers, Finally Fixed Kmplayer green Line problems when changed to EVR/CA Mode....
Does the new CCC still cause crashes/BSOD?
Not to me, I had atikmpag.sys BSOD's (Were caused randomly, maybe because of CCC, maybe not) from 11.5 to 11.7 (It ended with 11.7).
No problems right now with these.
has this driver fixed the slow map load times in BC2 ??? anyone
I aint tried this one in BFBC2 yet but the previous 11.8 preview driver ran great for me in BFBC2 without a problem.. maxed out of course
no problems here with this driver , same as all the other ones , it just works and with no uninstall or anything , just slapped them on top of the 11.8 preview that were already slapped on top of the 11.7 that were slapped on top of 11.6... and so on.
i dont know how so many people have so many problems changing drivers , the installer works wonderfuly with no rebbots or uninstalls.
Heh, they don't even properly support ARB_shader_atomic_counters they claimed they do.
AMD is getting to be more like spin doctors rather than innovators these days.
Or OpenGL viewer could be out of date, not the first time a program has mis-reported something
Something is wrong, at least one of the mentioned extension wasn't detected. 2 others are slightly different named.
I want to correct my own statements regarding 4.2 compliance.
Here's what I got from my system.
The reason why Scyphe's screenshot has only 50% 4.2 compliance was probably because he used the 4.1 context; see the difference on the top bar to the right of the 'Home' icon.
Only the shader version that isn't reported as 4.2, but 4.1.
