AMD Catalyst 11.8 Preview Driver (8.880.3 July 11)

Lost Planet 2 doesnt work at all for me (crashes on desktop when loading game) and Far Cry 2 stutters for me every 15-20 seconds...

FARCRY 2:
No problems what so ever. Just played through a mission near the beginning of the game. No hitch at all. Showing usage on both cards and everything maxed out. Vsync or not, no problems.

See this is the thing isn't it. Yet again. Another driver and I fail to have most of the bugs that people talk about. Recent install. Un-installed with driver cleaner. Not OTT over-clocks on CPU and GPU.

The only bugs I have had recently are the mouse cursor bug.

The only bug I have is that the windows installer crash every time I uninstall AMD catalyst driver from the control panel.
I have isolated it to CCC application, and it seems to be related to msi files.
Does anybody else see/have this error, and perhaps an idea how to solve it?
It started with the 11.1 series.
Running windows 7 SP1 64 bit.

 

Catalyst 11.8 Preview:
Gaming Graphics Subscore jumped from a Rating of 5.2 to 5.6..... AMAZING!!! 11.1 Gave me a increase of 5.3, But this is the best yet. Catalyst Drivers 10.8 thru 11.7 WHQL has always given me a subscore of 5.2 for gaming. Looks like things are changing for us stuck with the older 4XXX Series.

i know these are meant to be 11.7 with the new stuff but 11.7 didnt work for me , purple lights on f1 and bad lag on cod bo at starts but these 11.8 are smooth as silk no bugs at all yet , bf3 alpha runs 50-65 fps smooth as butter , f1 no lights and cod bo , as good as my previous 11.1a from january

The movie corruption with Fear 3 & Crossfire will be fixed in the 11.8 official drivers.

 

For some reason manual fan control is disabled in the overdrive for me, and it can't be enabled (the option is grey). ._.

Dirt 3 = + 8 fps
GTA IV IcenHancer 1.2.5 Graphic settings = + 6 fps
Crysis = + 9 fps
assassins creed brother hood = +12 fps
Call of duty black ops = + 14 Fps

The temps seems to stay at 50 55c Using laptop cooler Zalman

You noticed cpu bug? With my OpenCL app they keep me 25% cpu/100% core busy (uselessly).

It works on my card.

I was going to mention that since I've also noticed that.

le sigh. Hopefully 11.8 WHQL will fix that. With that said, I'd rather it useless use one core over hard crashing my system whenever I play a video.

 

Great. Now what about Crysis 2 DX9 CFX, BF2BC DX11 CFX and other outstanding bugs in 11.7 WHQL? Will those be addressed too or its too soon to tell if it will make it?

 

BFBC2 is a laggier with these, back to 11.5a

Its because the program is 32-bit. 32-bit programs can only call on 32-bit libraries, and 64-bit programs can only call on 64-bit libraries.

So, your windows is 64-bit, but since the program is 32-bit it used the 32-bit c++ libraries, not the 64-bit libraries

 

i threw 11.8p dlls into the game folder with 11.7 installed, so in my ghetto tests i found:

-borderlands CF might be slower than 11.7
-minecraft forced AA hard locking is fixed
-unigine dx9/10/11 all a little faster vs 11.7
