Are you worried about your electric bill or something? I can't see why card running in 3D mode during browsing would be so extremely upsetting. Annoying, yes, ruining my day, definitely no.

Are you regularly viewing pages where GPU acceleration has a significant impact on the experience?

If not I'd suggest you disable it.

I used to be a firm proponent of GPU acceleration but frankly all it does is draw more power and introduce more noise and heat into the system. Even when I were using my old C2D E6600 it was more than enough to handle video, Flash etc. without GPU acceleration. Now, using an i7 2600K, there's absolutely no point to pushing the GPU into 3D clocks for anything but games.

Ive disabled the hw acceleration here as well, as also realised no point, not when ive got an i7, can handle it all fine, no need to use the GPU for it. :p

Well i tried the 11 betas, 11.1, 11.2, and 11.4 all the same, i lose about 50% in game performance. Every game frame rate is cut in half. HAHA/ L4d 2 For example, the highest frame rate is get is 45, compared that to the 10 series or 9 series, i am getting well over 100. Jericho the same , 60-100 , now its 25-40. Crysis 18-35, where i use to get 45-70, or Bioshock 17-28, where i use to get 70-200. I guess these drivers the 11 series are not meant to be use on a 5750. So i went back to using the 10 series or 9 series, using 10.12 now and everything is back to normal.

I am starting to wonder is it because tessellation is enable in the drivers. Maybe that is the problem, i guess the 11 series are really meant to be use for the 6000 series.

I set everything to application controls, makes it the best because its not forcing anything to do something it doesn't want to.

I have only had the 99% bug since FF4 loaded up. Happens with both 11.2 and 11.4 RC2 drivers so absolutely related to FF4 imo. No other changes on my rig could explain it I'm sure.

does reverting to FF3.6 fix it for you? or just disabling acceleration (whatever the option is, i'm on 3.6 still)

Is there a particular video this happens with?

No, but the card gets unnecessary heated up, heating the nearby hdds etc, also here in India the ambient currently is about 38c, so you can understand what happens if it stays in 3d mode, I'm currently idling in 44c. My card is non reference with a PWM fan which makes a lot of noise at high rpms(which I can hear even with a large ceiling fan spinning in my room)

PS: The main issue is not with that, I can live without HW accel but the raised 3d clocks(that stays till reboot) drives me mad, this causes the monitor to to take 10 secs to wake up from sleep, alt-tabbing from games also takes a lot of time.

I can use the web without GPU accel but the pages in IE Test Drive demo does not work properly, I admit this is a minor issue but a bug is a bug.

Even without HW accel(which I've disabled) it still goes to 3d clocks when viewing images in windows image viewer and sometimes stays that way, also happens randomly, last happened yesterday.

Look at this, idle desktop, was viewing photos in windows image viewer:

Wondered what was going on, every time an image was being rendered this happened, does anyone know if the image viewer uses 3d acceleration? Could not replicate this later.

I don't use FF regularly(avid opera fan), but the bug still happens, flash acceleration?

No, not even with video, randomly happens just browsing or even in idle, I've disabled flash acceleration.

Are you running with Aero enabled?

I'm not, and I've yet to see the 99% bug. Not sure if it's related, by all accounts it seems rather random who's affected or not, but it's worth mentioning.

Yes I am, and before you say that's the problem I won't disable it, I like it very much and I'd rather throw my card away before I disable aero, amd should fix their crap, if this keeps up I'll have to just keep my shut off.

PS: When this bug happened I've closed and restarted(automatic) the dwm.exe process, no fix.

There should be nothing wrong with Aero enabled.

I mean, if the old drivers also had the some problem, then it may be Aero's fault.
But then again, wasn't the 99% GPU bug started to crop up around 10.10 - 10.12 releases?
I think releases older than 10.10 didn't have that kind of problem.

Got black artifacts in War3 each time it comes back to 2d frequency ...

I am having this exact same issue. I can prove it's driver related, because when I reinitialize the driver (by disabling and then re-enabling crossfire) the problem resolves itself.

My only worry is that I think I saw this with 11.2 as well.

In addition, I recently upgraded to firefox 4; I wonder if that could be contributing...
