Uh, did install just fine using the installer from a clean uninstallation.
Well, with asder's mobility mod, that is.

The sad thing is that 'waiting' and 'if' are two words that are always in the mind of most AMD users before the release of a driver.

8.851 will have many things...it will open a new era to dx11 for red boys ;) but 11.4 it's not bad either...i am pleased...it's all matter of profiles now...

did you know that all gpu usage problems for mgpu users are not because of driver but because of new profiles...?? i suppose you didnt know it...so...:nerd:

So, how about those who had the bug with single cards that's not a multi-GPU card?
Personally, I don't have that bug, but from reading the threads around here that bug doesn't exclusively happen in multi-GPU setups.

I did have the 99% bug a month ago when I was on one 5870, but it happened extremely rarely. About once a week. Ever since I picked a second 5870 I get the bug one or two times a day. At least my temporary solution now is to disable/enable crossfire instead of a reboot.

Yeah it happens to me too, but it doesnt happen very often. As someone said, couple times a week. And sure its a little annoying, but a reboot takes 1min for me, I dont get the big deal everyone is talking about?

Of course, if you reboot only around a minute then the rest of the world must be the same.

In any case, it's not about the hassle of a reboot.
It's about the bug existing in the first place.
If AMD users are getting used to OS reboots because of a driver bug then it tells a lot about the quality of AMD drivers.

No, you dont get it, it wasnt about the time (1min), its about all the nagging about it isnt worth it. Sure its bad of AMD to not fix it, but if you know how to do it maybe you should work for AMD. Software bugs will always be around, and its not as easy to find a universal fix that works for everyone, specially without breaking something else. So my point was, the bug isnt killing hardware, it isnt doing anything harmful, so its not worth all the bitch and moaning we have here, about it. Because end of the day, youre bitching and moaning wont resolve the problem any faster. If it would, with the amount of attention its gotten, it would have been fixed a long time ago. And just to remind all of you, there are many threads about it already, go clutter those threads about it instead? Lets keep these driver threads as intresting and nag free as possible. Thats my "humble" opinion.

Ps. Nvidia has their share of issues as well, remember the "low gpu usage" stuff on fermi cards, well its back with a vengeance on the 500 series.

    PPs.
This is one of the reasons, for an example why its taking time.

I might need to remind you that this bug has existed for quite some time now; months.
And I might need to remind you that I DON'T have the bug whatsoever.
You probably also know that spyre is lurking in this forum.

In any case, as the bug affects mostly CFX users, who spends more for AMD products than most, then it's even more imperative for AMD to actually pinpoint and fix the bug.
Unless, of course, CFX users are still considered as niche users by AMD, and thus as long as single card setups are fine then everything's fine for AMD.

And don't classify every bug reports as 'nagging, b!tching and moaning'.
Those users have a right to do so since they're AMD customers; people who actually spent money for a CFX setup.

If everyone stays silent, do you really think AMD would notice anything and eventually fix something?
If everyone stays silent, do you really think every user would know how to fix a problem without another user finding a temporary solution for it?

That 99% bug might not affect much, but mouse lag annoys some RTS or MOBA players.
Also, it's not news that CFX users are still waiting for CAPs that would fix scaling problems with some of the games.
And to some people, newer drivers actually introduce regressions.

At the end of the day, if there's no amount of attention going to a bug, will it get fixed eventually?

    Thank you.

    [ninjaedit]
I don't care about problems on Nvidia side.
I use AMD cards, not Nvidia.
Is it really wrong to expect AMD to have the best driver support there is?

Seems there's pretty big memory leak on the RC2 release compared to original preview. I would recommend staying away from these. 24 hours idle even will get your machine pretty stuck.

(Beside that there's an detection issue so for the video as well for the 3D and www-browsers, but this isn't new issue they changed to this crappy detection system since 11.1.)
