Samething for me, back to 11.5, added the gl driver to Rage folder and BF3 works just fine, eventhough an errors shows up before the game.

Well that test is a bit misleading because it was run at 1920x1200 res, and at that high resolution the CPU has very little impact.
If they really wanted to see how different CPU's perform the test should have been run at 1280x1024 or at least 1600x1200.

My CPU is a dual core, but it's overclocked to 3.8Ghz and even at that speed both cores have a 98% load, (1600x1200 res ).

Anyway those are just my observations......it's up to you in the end... :)

I got my tearing problems solved by putting vsync always on.Obviously it didnt want to turn on on any other setting in the CCC. The cfg made no difference...
Btw the frames are insane, I dont understand how come some ppl have problems...

Because the problems weren't about the frame rate, but rendering problems and low-res textures.

This driver crashes with applications like GPU Caps Viewer and Video Converters that use AMD APP acceleration. Tried installing twice after cleaning with driver sweeper. Back to Preview 1 drivers.

It seems that I managed to make the game somewhat playable on my machine.
    This driver.
    Catalyst A.I. turned to standard.
-> from the game: jobs_numthreads 0. Even though the CPU flatlines at 100%, there's only some minor stuttering. Game runs at 30-60 FPS on E8400 + radeon 4850.

Rage runs nearly perfect here, only drawback is no xfire at the moment, the patch didnt make a difference at all, for anyone still ahving problems heres my config:

    \rage\base\rageconfig.cfg

seta com_videoRam "1024" //sets the Video Card memory Set this to the amount you have in MB
seta com_maxfps "60" //limits the frames to 60 can be changed to what you desire
seta image_anisotropy "16" //Using the highest setting here but you can set as 2, 4 or 8
    seta image_usecompression 0
    seta image_filter "GL_LINEAR_MIPMAP_LINEAR" //filtering for light maps
seta image_preload "1" //Use preload images when ever possible
    seta image_lodbias "-1" //LoD settings
seta image_ignoreHighQuality "0" //Sets up for using HQ gfx
    seta image_ignoreLowQuality "1" //ignores the low textures
seta image_useCache "1" //Enabled Cache to allow the textures to load properly without popping
    seta image_cacheMegs "125" //Cache size in Megabytes
seta image_cacheMinK "50" //Cache minimum size in kilobytes
    seta r_swapInterval 1 //VSYNC 1 enabled, 0 diabled
seta r_useHighQualityPostProcess "1" //Fore High Quality post proccessing
    seta r_shadowsHighQuality "1" //Fore High Quality shadows
seta r_displayRefresh "0" //keep it so the engine doesn't double render a frame
seta r_renderer "best" //highest rendering options
    seta r_multiSamples "32" //Set this to 16 or 8 if you're having low-fps as 32 is the Max Multi-sampling
    seta r_useHBAO "1" //Ambient occlusion
seta r_useRenderThread "0" // 0 Disable or 1 Enable threaded rendering useful for newer cards to increase performance.
    seta r_visDistMult "1"
    seta r_useMotionBlur "1" //use blur
    seta r_skipBump "0"
    seta r_skipSpecular "0"
    seta r_skipNewAmbient "0"
    seta r_shadows "1"
    seta r_cgFragmentProfile "best"
    seta r_cgVertexProfile "best"
    seta vt_lodBias "-1" //LoD settings
    //below is cache settings
    seta vt_pageimagesizeuniquediffuseonly2 "8192"
    seta vt_pageimagesizeuniquediffuseonly "8192"
    seta vt_pageimagesizeunique "8192"
    seta vt_pageimagesizevmtr "8192"
    seta vt_uncompressedphysicalimages "0"

    Ingame settings after patch are:

    1920 x 1080

    aa: 8x

Af: Low ( foobars on high, i think its running out of mem )

    Vsync: on

    Texture Cache: Large

    Driver settings:

Nothing forced, ai set to advanced ( doesnt make any difference )

I know this has been postet numerous times before, its only for the people still having Problems, take into account this config is strictly for quad+ core cpus and 4gb+ main memory and 1gb+ gpu memory !!!

Besides i think Rage is a great game, i really like nearly every aspect of it, especially the engine feels just right, it got this very responsive and direct aiming like all ID titles, so much fun :D
