AMD Catalyst™ 11.5b hotfix 5/25/2011

Yes I can confirm that this works. The problem I think most Vista users had was they didn't know you're supposed to use the win7 11.5b drivers with the vista hotfix files

Because the 11.5 CAP2 is OLDER than these drivers, which supposedly has newer fixes. So just use this driver and wait for the NEXT CAP.

BTW: It seems only the opengl driver and ccc are newer over 11.5 RC3 so I will wait for the next driver since I don't have Brink yet.

 

Only performance improvement for Dirt 3? What about everything else?! Sigh...

When is Catalyst 11.6 likely to roll around and what are the odds it'll improve performance in recent games?

 

I have flickering with a 5970 card, why isnt that fixed? :S

 

Are you sure the flickering is not due to your 5970 dying? That's what dual GPU cards tend to do...

I get very mild flickering with my 5970. Noticed in Brink with the crossfire working, you can see it in the Menu on dark areas.

Crysis 2 also flickers.

It is like how you used to be able to view the refreshrate on CRT's when recording with an external camera.

 

Finished The Witcher 2 played at smooth 60+ FPS luckily for me had no problems on Ultra with Ubersampling off, Just loaded up a save to test out Hotfix drivers and there is a decent performance increase hopefully with the 1.1 patch this will fix peoples performance issues in TW2.

 

Thanks, it worked! but I notice I don't have OpenCL anymore, so I downloaded 11-5_vista_win7_64_ocl and tried to install but it won't. It goes through the process and then during installation it disappears, in the end it doesn't install ocl

 

With this driver, is anyone have a flash player issue which is only shows green screen?

 

getting massive slowdowns in the xgames part of dirt3 with these , anybody else getting this ?

 

And Dirt 3 still crash before engine initialisation, when 4 gpu's are enabled....

 

Where to download the extract package?
I only can find "amd_catalyst_11.5b_hotfix_8.85.6rc5_win7_may25.exe"

This is my first time to use hotfix driver.

After extraction and setup initializes, press Cancel and go to C:\AMD

 

Much better performance in witcher 2 and killingfloor

 

Do you guys uninstall the older CAP profiles or just leave them?

 

Yeah uninstall older caps before installing new ones, But remember that if the driver release is newer then its included in that package. So if you have 11.5 drivers then you dont need 11.3 cap5 etc

 

Can't wait to see how well the Witcher 2 will run after I install this.
