AMD slides showed 5600xt is 15-20% faster than 1660ti/super. It will end up competing with 2060 6gb.
those are always going to show their card in the best light. I would wait till the card is reviewed by 3rd parties.
What kind of gamers do you figure are being targeted at this price point? WOW is still a stupid popular game that Blizzard is actively updating and maintaining. It was even updated to DX12 sometime ago. Esports, MOBA, and MMORPG gamers would likely care about performance in this segment and below.
That's not really a fair comparison considering the 5600 XT will destroy any and all of the older Polaris cards that have 8GB Vram. I still don't understand why they gave the 5500XT 8GB of ram, as we say here in America that's just putting lipstick on a pig.
This is why the 5500xt got 8GB.
That's some damn good lipstick.
Winning in 2 games (also counting BFV) out of 20 doesn't justify the extra ram imo.
Edit: Also I don't know whats up with Hilbert's Gears 5 benchmarks but they seem to conflict with just about every other benchmark I've seen.
Gears 5 starts at 3:55
If 5600XT can be really close to 2060 RTX 6GB, you see that vram is pointless if not paired with power. I bet 5600XT can easily match Vega56/64, so 2gb won't save the day, ever.
Gears 5 heavily favors AMD this is the only game it is close to the 2060. The point of my post was 4GB is a limiting factor even at 1080p which is why the is a 8GB 5500xt. The 6GB should not limit the 5600xt at 1080 but I wonder how it will fair at 1440. AMD really needs to do some work on their color compression.
Haha, another 2060. Seems like 5600xt will shake up the midrange market.
I cried from laughing. EVGA acknowledges the normal 2060 getting beaten up, by saying 5600xt will not be allowed to KO our 2060 KO edition. lol
1660's are gonna get blown away so nvidia just left partners to make they own cheaper 2060's in order to compete.
I never considered these turing gtx cards to be decent buy anyway.
I agree, they were never decent buy. Most casual gamers would love at least Vega-like or 'lil better performance around or under 300$. Time has come at last!
The 1660super is a good value the rest are meh at best.
Nvidia replaced the 1660 with 1660 super very short after, screwing the users who bought it as well as 1660ti which is barely faster. A bad practice. Cards are meh i agree.
Would definitely go with rtx2060 for 50$ more.
Here in the states you can get a 1660s for $220. There are no 2060 cards within $80 of that. If you are building a 1080p budget PC right now the 1660s and a 3600/b450 combo can be had for ~$500. Jumping to a 2060 would increase the cost of that PC by almost 20%. Plus like it or not G-sync is better than FS as of now especially at these lower performers in the GPU department with there ability to go all the way down to 1Hz technically. Most of the FS monitors have a range that starts at 40Hz. I’ve seen some 120hz monitors that the range starts at 70Hz. WTF!?!
No offence but it's hard to recommend a random Youtube video versus a a long time known hardware guru(no pun intended ) with years of credibility in the tech world.
But this does also make sense, from previous GCN to Navi now AMD cards have shown that they love memory and bandwidth, the 4gb 5500 is obviously memory starved.
Oh I meant no disrespect to Hilbert at all, I always go to his reviews first and have been for many years. But I think it's always worth looking at many reviews to get an even bigger overall picture of things.
How useful can it be even it starts from 1hz? I have one of those 40-75hz fs monitors and it works nicely, its hard to keep it in range with the 580 tho and newer games.
Those 70-144hz monitors are a joke.
1Hz is not useful per say but there are loads of games that lock at 30FPS. And what about heavy titles that may be able to average 60-70 but have dips to the low 30’s high 20’s on occasion then tear fest as I’m sure you know. This is where the 1Hz starting range comes in handy. I literally can turn on G-sync and forget about it.
