Do YouTube video stutter vs watching it on your phone at 1080 60fps

    • Custom fan and clock tuning may sometimes reset to default when changes are applied in the Radeon Performance Tuning tab.
    • Custom tuning profiles may fail to load or apply correctly after some system boots.
Finally. This has been issue for ages.

Not anymore, not on browser, not on phone. Not even when a frame drops vs before.
Also tested the fix for browsers with srgb plus hdr when available and there is no difference in colours.

The older driver had a new service from M$ named "AMD Logger", well... Logger is not a good name, people will disable it...
So they changed from "AMD Logger" to "AMD Crash Defender Service" :)
I got lazy and not verify if it is the same thing with a different name, but I bet it is...
Anyway, for me "Defender" is also a bad name, so had to disable it too :)

Curiously it defaults to disabled here, maybe it pops up if you get a crash or it starts with the bug reporter utility also added in.

Vulkan is at 1.2.139.0 same as the WSL driver but the runtime for whatever reason is still 1.2.132.2 but that's easy enough to update to the latest available.
(Sounds like 1.2.145.0 has some fun extension that could be useful, up to 1.2.146.0 now though nothing pre-compiled yet and it's going to take a while for AMD to update to these latest versions too.)

Not much more to say so far, good fixes but still a couple of issues and while it's still a thing AMD appears to have delisted the Navi downclocking problem now.

My card has not downclocked since they introduced minimum clocks in wattman

and i run mostly with no overclocks and it never drops

It's improved at least, although reading your way of setting it I should give it a try to just set the three states close to one another and see what happens as testing shows it lowering down from the highest clock state almost constantly.
Which makes sense for low demanding situations but not in more demanding scenarios though some of it might also be API limited or hit other bugs from what the game is doing or introducing additional CPU bound situations or other bottlenecks resulting in a lower GPU speed and the effect on performance that this has. :)

With AMD fluid motion turned on all videos are too bright, used in conjunction with Bluesky Frame Rate Converter that is. Driver behaves this way since 20.5.1.

That's good to know that's fixed. That one flew under the radar a bit as I'm just noticing the youtube stutter not long ago.

I only found out using my phone to watch the same gameplay on youtube. Where that gameplay video is so much smoother at 1080p/60 on the phone vs PC.

I wasn't sure if it was the youtube app that it defaults to on the phone causing the smoothness or driver problem.

Glad to read that it is now fixed.

You have other issues then, I have the same card and Win 10, haven't had any problems. Bad O/C or you need to clean up your system.

    Maybe, but i don´t know,what´s wrong.
Can you say me, which VR system you use, Oculus or what?
I don´t overclock my system and if i deinstall the AMD driver,i clean with DDU.
    Example:
    Half Life Alyx VR.
With the 19.12.1 i have an average framerate from 60-70 fps.
After installing 20.4.2 or 20.5.1 or 20.7.1 the framerate goes down to 20-25 fps, unplayable.

    Example:
    Asgard's Wrath VR.
With 19.12.1 the game runs without a problem.
With 20.4.2 or 20.5.1 or 20.7.1 after a few seconds the game freeze and i must open the task manager and close the game.
If i´ m going back to the old driver both games works ok.
The same problems with Fallout 4 VR or Skyrim VR or Lone Echo VR.
    I don´t understand it.
    Sorry for my bad english.

Well apparently Ass Creed III still has washed out oversaturated colours with HDR enabled... disabling RIS (or any other Radeon setting for that matter) doesn't solve the issue either.

I'd say oversaturated would be more common for how some of these games tend to treat HDR but washed out look feels like it's entirely wrong. Strong popping colors and heavy focus on black levels and brightness along with tone mapping and color grading effects that basically feels like they're going to pop like 200% in intensity if you try HDR enabled. :p

Some calibration required perhaps, suppose it's not an easy thing to adjust in the game itself though and however the actual game goes about doing Windows HDR at that ha ha.

Don't have the proper hardware for it though, demo displays in stores certainly go for the whole color and brightness look too so I suppose extreme saturation is just a in thing or it does some funny brain stuff making it look more impressive ha ha.
Disingenuous to what HDR actually is and the results that can be gotten but some of these makes me think back of digital vibrance when NVIDIA was having that as a effect users could just toggle.

Thought the known issue here was with desktop HDR too not the actual software when that's running but maybe it depends on if you use windowed/borderless/full-screen borderless Windows 10 style or actual exclusive fullscreen without the desktop and all that affecting things.
Wonder if the game does better by popping off the FSE optimization compatibility checkbox in that case, Microsoft keeps changing it up though and some of the registry keys differ a bit as of 1903 or somewhere around that build.

Particularly something on honoring user choice as it seems some games can just set this optimized mode anyway otherwise. Something like this but not all keys may be actually required aside from the honor one. https://reddit.com/r/insurgency/comments/ck1429/psa_windows_10_1903_will_now_ignore_the_disable/

BTW, found a bug, DFT https://www.digitalfilmtools.com/dft/
does not work with Adrenalin 2020 20.7.1 July 9, else if disable GPU Rendering option.

Nope... Still fails to apply the custom voltage and instead applies 1200mv randomly after some system boots. Everything else that is customised in the profile is applied correctly.

I use Bluesky with potplayer too and the problem with too bright videos only occurs when "enable Zero-copy mode" is enabled. If I disable it, everything works as expected. Sapphire RX480 nitro+ here.
