AMD today announced a new addition to its 2013 Elite Mobility processor family, expanding the options available for anyone seeking crystal-clear HD entertainment, power efficiency, and accelerated per... AMD adds Elite Quad-Core A4-1350 accelerated processor
Poor day to launch this product, it's dead in the water: http://www.anandtech.com/show/7314/intel-baytrail-preview-intel-atom-z3770-tested 8w TDP and performance that is horribly outclassed by the competition.
8w TDP = meaningless. A4 1350 only consumes 3watts. People need to stop focusing on TDP as it has little relation to actual power draw.
It has a direct relation however to what thermal limits designers have to take into account for their platform. Otherwise: litigation, litigation and litigation.
TDP is for designing cooling solutions. The A4 1350 has an 8W TDP. So, the cooling solution has to be designed to dissipate at least 8W of heat.
To be fair, the higher TDP is a result of on die graphics which embarrass the competition in most cases. I like my A8 in my laptop, it's pretty quick and snappy for what it is. It also puts HD4000 and especially 3000 to shame in graphics performance.
the A10 makes the best poor mans gaming platform or htpc if u ask me ive used the a6 and a10 now and would never go back to intel for anything but high end with dedicated graphics.
